BEST Country Cooking, very much so grandma kitchen meets food network geniuses!!! We decided to go to Breakfast Friday evening upon my daughters request, even after dreaming of this marvelous eater all night, everything was so amazing!!!! They provide a REAL country breakfast and...... once you start eating, do NOT think you will be able to leave anything on your plate!!!! Well, stretchy pants be damned.... it is WORTH the fashion faux pas! If you haven't yet eaten at the Country Cafe, well shame on you..... Get on over there and enjoy.....and don't forget your stretchy pants!!!! This family-run café is all about small town charm and hearty home-style food. I salute this mom and pop family ran restaurant who fights for their dreams, who lose sleep figuring out ways to feed neighbors in need, who create excellence in the kitchen and take care of their workers. Read moreI’ve eaten here several times in the 15 years I lived in Wylie, despite some delicious dishes, the service has been disappointing on multiple occasions including this morning. We were a party of 5, we (party of 2) arrived about 5 minutes before the rest of our party (party of 3). We did have to switch tables on their arrival from a 4 person table to a booth that tightly fit three adults, one 17, and one 13 year old. Waitress confirmed our order when we placed it, and there was a reasonable time until our food came. I ordered the chorizo and avocado omelet and added queso with wells done hash browns and a cinnamon roll pancake on the side. As you can see in the picture, my omelette was indeed topped with queso, but did not have avocado despite it being in the name, and did not come with hashbrowns at all. Another person in my party ordered tacos that also came with hashbrowns but did not receive them. I did receive the avocado when I asked, but I had already eaten half because of the time it took to bring the food and then bring the avocado. My drink wasn’t refilled at all. We were rushed to finish in less than 30 minutes from arrival despite the restaurant being less than half full. We paid and tipped nicely advising the waitress that we were going to chat for a few minutes. No refills on water, tea, or coffee while we were waiting for food, while we had our food, nor after we tipped. Gave four stars for atmosphere because it is as expected a small town cafe. We’ve had consistently mixed experiences over the years, but this was likely our last attempt at a good meal. We’ve gone back because the food is good when it’s good, however, the lack of service and the food not even being served as ordered and described on the menu is it for us. Hit or...
Read moreLet me begin by stating that the food here was absolutly top notch.
We arrived just ahead of the morning rush and finished part of the way through it. They were short staffed on watresses only having 2, but you would have never known that.
The staff was super. I mean SUPER. Every single person from the guy seating us to the person bussing the table. We were immediately seated and immediately served. I usually do not like strong coffee, but it was smooth. It had a kick but was really, really good. I ordered the big breakfast. I had scambled eggs with hashbrowns, bacon, and short stack pancakes with a side of gravey. My husband had meatlovers that came with sausage links, bacon, ham, 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. We ordered a side of gravey just to see if it was any good or not. It was the only thing I was less than thrilled with. It was packet gravey.
Listen. We absolutely devoured our food! The friendly watress stopped to check on us, and we mentioned it was our first time there. She told us they have a special kind of pancake we had to try. It was a sample, and it came complementary. It was like a pancake cinnabon. No syrup needed. Ya'll. Hands down the best pancakes I have had in my life. (With the exception of my grandmothers, but she is going to be hard to beat because grammies is made with love. But, these were close)! Judging by the staff, this is going to be a super place to work. The food is, like I said...great. The only thing not mentioned is the atmosphere. It looks just like a diner I grew up with. (My age is late 50's so, it is a good wholesome family restaurant).
You just can't go wrong here, folks. It is a little bit of a drive for us, but we will 100% be making this a regular breakfast rotation. You really...
