Morninkol Brunch Cafe — Restaurant in The Colony

Morninkol just opened a week prior to my visit. The food was really really good! The plating is beautiful, the dishes look as good as they taste. Servers and staff were attentive, kind, and went out of their way to ensure a good experience. However, there were a hiccups I experienced: The menu was difficult to navigate, and descriptions were lacking and sometimes confusing. There were ingredients in my dish unlisted in the menu 😅 The dishes look soooo much better than how they’re described, if there were more pictures (with labels) that would have been awesome! The colors were difficult to read (but cute!), and flipping back and forth for the build-your-own options was frustrating. My linen and silverware had some mysterious spots on it. I know they just opened though so I assume they’re still figuring out dishes / linens and whatnot.

Overall, great food, great service, cute place with lots of potential! I can’t wait to come back and see how much...

The food is very good. The service is nice. There are just a few odd things I noticed when I visited. The music was nice but had commercials playing (made me laugh). My coffee wasn't really hot and when asked by my server for a refill, they took just the cup(left the saucer) and came back with more warm coffee (thought that was odd). I'm not sure if they have "tray-jack" stands but the server brought the food out on a large tray and set it down on the table next to me. (Seemed odd). My food overall wasn't too hot but still delicious. The physical menu is cumbersome to hold. Not really a big deal but still, odd. Overall very good food...

Such a breath of fresh air in Austin Ranch. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is even better. Our server was amazing and helped us navigate the menu and recommended the French toast with the berry patch and it was so delicious. The sauce on it was to die for. We also got the biscuits and gravy and while I'm typically a sausage gravy person the biscuits were so fresh and you could tell they were made in house. The plating and presentation is top notch and feels classy. I look forward to trying several other items...
