Given the rating disparity between Google and Yelp reviews, I tend to side with Google. So we were enthusiastic to give Turbo CPW a try. Unfortunately, after returning from lunch , the food quality and service matches the experiences of Yelp. This review is more of the 2.5 star variety but I rounded up.
Firstly, we ordered the red Sangria and I watched as they made it. A combination of orange juice, cranberry juice, and a red wine of indeterminate origin does not constitute a Sangria; at all. For a bar that appears to take its' wine (and related drinks seriously), this was a complete let down - sour and unappealing. I returned it, politely refused an offer to remake it (if I explained why this wasn't a good Sangria, why would I want another?) and requested a refund. Another employee provided me with a refund and gave me less than the actual cost of the drink. No apology but rather a borderline accusation of "I thought I gave you XXX?" until I flared out the cash and showed him HIS error.
So then the pizza came - the "Bees Knees". I didn't think it was possible to eradicate flavor from a pizza - especially one with pepperoni, jalapeno's, and honey - but that's exactly what arrived. The crust was excellent but there was zero flavor. If your taste buds run on the side of bland, this pizza may actually work in your favor. For us, it did not.
I wish I could easily dismiss this claim as grump bias based on the Sangria incident, but, to me both issues clearly point to a bigger issue with the overall quality of the food service. Unless Turbo CPW reads this review and reconsiders their food prep methodology, I'd suggest trying any other of their items or choose a different nearby eatery. Your experience may be the same or differ wildly. Either way,...
Read moreI originally visited Turbo back during the summer of 2022. My initial experience was great! The food was good, the atmosphere was great and the prices were fair.
Unfortunately, my recent trip showed that Turbo has taken a step in the wrong direction. I took my partner for a brunch there as it seemed like a good opportunity to eat here again. My first note is that I feel that the food and drink is MUCH too expensive for what you receive quality and quantity wise. My breakfast sandwich was fine, but it was pretty basic and something you could make ay home yet cost about 13$. Our lemonade tea was also like 7$ despite it tasting pretty basic as well. The food isn't bad but it is severely over priced for what you get. I remember originally that my food was served on an actual dish yet this visit I was served my 13$ sandwich on a small paper plate. Personally I just feel that if I spend 40$+ on two sandwiches and two drinks, that my food be served on a dish and maybe come with a little more.
The other detail is that they replaced their comfortable wall couch with a plastic bench that hurts to sit on after just about 30mins, thus limiting the comfort I once got while dining here.
Overall I love the vibes, but man those prices are going to prevent me from returning Unfortunately. Maybe if the sandwich included some sides and such it would be worth it but sadly there are cheaper options in the area with higher...
Read moreLet me preface by saying I am ok with waiting patiently for my order especially at peak times such as mid day on weekends. However, the staff at Turbo on 03/02 not only wasted much of our precious weekend but they also made their own jobs much less efficient.
We ordered two coffees at the kiosk inside the door, paid and sat patiently inside waiting for them to be made. Mind you, the staff behind the counter were calling names of others’ orders loudly as we waited. This is what I expected to happen with ours…communication. HOWEVER, I realized we had been sitting at a sticky unwashed table for 25 minutes for no reason: nobody bothered to inform us that they were out of heavy cream, and thus our orders were not being worked on. By luck, I heard them mention our name softly and went to inquire about our order. Only then did they bother to investigate the order and ask what we would like instead of the ever rare heavy cream. We were sitting inside the entire time, only about 6 feet away from the counter. I am not yet able to read minds but I am working on it, maybe then I’ll have a better time...
