El Loro Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Thief River Falls

I ordered the quesadilla ranchera and the burger.

The quesadilla used a delicious Fajita but instead of more subtantial cheese they opted for some sort of cheese sauce that really ruined the integrity of the quesadilla. It still tasted good but I wouldn't order this again.

The burger was similarly good tasting but with its own issues. The meat patty was a bit oversized for the bun, just out of proportion, and it could have used a slice of tomato versus the diced ones. I also would have liked onion on it and they really should have a slice of cheese in there (maybe I missed it or it was more cheese sauce). The bacon was also not crispy, which some people like, but I really feel that this burger could have used a nice bacon crunch instead of another chewy component. The avocado was perfect but I don't think there were any jalapeños in the burger like it said it would in the menu.

The fries were perfect, no notes.

This meal was 3 star but I feel like there's potential for other menu items that I haven't tried.

El Loro was a Superb experience!!! The food was SO scrumptious, the portions were Very generous, the service was Super friendly, attentive, and fast, and it wasn't too crowded at all for a Saturday evening. Excellent experience!

I ordered the Loco Lindo and a small Peacharita, and the person I was with ordered the Mixed Fajita. But I'd say you pretty much couldn’t go wrong with Anything on their menu. The quesadilla was cold and not very good. The other Mexican restaurant in town is still by far my favorite! Edit: we tried it again and it's gotten worse. Watery refried beans, their salsa and chips and definitely not in house made and come with a weird white sauce the resembles ranch and mayo. The service was extremely slow and the chicken and rice dish had a thick orange grease over the top. It was awful. Also have heard people refer to this place as a small business. It's a franchise.
