During my recent visit to B&B Restaurant in Grayslake, I decided to order the Italian beef, a dish I usually can’t get enough of. Unfortunately, this time, the meat was overcooked, which was a bit of a letdown for my taste buds. I specifically asked for it “really dipped” (swimming in the juice), or alternatively, with two extra juices on the side along with sweet and hot peppers. The price was reasonable, falling within the average range you’d expect for such a meal. On a brighter note, the restaurant’s interior boasts a pretty nice modern finish, and it’s kept very clean. The staff and service were very polite and welcoming, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. Despite the hiccup with the main course, I’m intrigued by the lunch menu and would like to come back to try different options, hoping for a more satisfying culinary experience next time.

Another fine Chicago/Greek grill establishment right off of busy US hwy 45 in small town Third Lake servin' up some yummy grub. If you love Chicago grill food like I do then you're a person of good culture. Anyone who moves to the Chicago area should learn how to eat and fall in love with Chicago style food. In fact, people who don't live here but may be visiting family, friends, or on a business trip or taking a short weekend getaway when the season hits to Great America; Chicago grill food is a must at least once in your life. Another shining example of the Windy City heritage and keep cookin' up that delicious grub, B&B! Always happy to support local!

5+5+5+5 🌟 🍔🌭🍗🥗🥤🍺🍻 Simple facility, very clean, well laid out, plenty of outside dining options, a drive-thru, the double cheeseburger I had was almost exactly like Portillo's, but a little deeper char flavor. The fries were crispy, the drinks, the soft drinks, were endless. My son's Gyros was huge! They had plenty of video poker options in the back corner, and the bathrooms were very clean. You can see the kitchen, and that was spotless. All in all, I would highly recommend this quaint establishment for a quick bite, and a really good burger! Oh and they did have the Cubs game on, and they won, woohoo!

My girlfriends and I stopped in for lunch, for the first time on 12/2/24. We got there right when they opened at 11am, there was no one at the front counter and all the digital menus were turned off. We saw a young woman in the back of the kitchen on her phone, but she never approached the front. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes, until what appeared to be the owner, finally arrived. He proceeded to take my order and then another young woman came running in and went behind the counter. Evidently she was supposed to be the opening employee and the owner proceeded to discipline her right in front of me and even went as far as to say to her, "Where have you been? There are customers waiting and I am going to kill you (said with a slight chuckle) for this." She then told him she was late due to her mothers vehicle not starting and she needed to give her a ride to work. She seemed apologetic and quite embarrassed. I ordered the #5 Italian beef sandwich combo, dry. The total with tax was $14.22 and it was a complete waste. My sandwich was soaked and immediately fell apart. The "beef" was like rubber and completely inedible. The fries were decent and I ate those and my drink of course. After all that the owner left, instead of staying to help and the young woman was left to take orders and clean the tables and floors from the day before. All of the tables were dirty. Then she moved onto cleaning the bathrooms and another male employee would pop out of the back to get her if a customer came in. He was dressed pretty shabby and we kept seeing him run his fingers through his hair... completely disgusting and unsanitary. I did not even bother going up to bring attention to the poor quality of the sandwich, because she was so frazzled. We were extremely disappointed in our experience and will not be returning. Some suggestions if they wish to survive - definitely minimize your menu; you will be able to focus more on offering better quality of food. Do not offer catering, when you can barely handle the day-to-day dining. Being a restaurant owner myself, you need to be more involved, better train your staff (especially when it comes to hygiene and sanitation), and be more professional by not discipling your employees in front of customers. *Adding to my review based on the owners response - There are no false claims made here. Not one. We witnessed the inappropriateness the male owner exuded. In turn, we felt bad for the employee. If this is the elder female/owner responding to my review, that appeared later on in the morning, you were not there to witness what we saw. The female employee clearly said it was in regards to her mother, so clearly she was not a daughter of the owner. Almost all the tables were in fact dirty, and the female employee worked tirelessly to clean them. I am supportive of fellow businesses, but what we witnessed was extremely disappointing and inappropriate. The male owner should in fact know...

Went twice in one week…first time for the gyro’s, second time for the Pastitsio on a Saturday. All the components for the gyro were very good, alone, but I didn’t care for the way it was served and I prefer the pita to be a little toasted…I did not ask for that, so I don’t fault them for that, also, the pita itself was very good. The tzatziki sauce appeared to be homemade and was very good, and the meat was well seasoned and tasty. There wasn’t a lot of meat on it, which I personally prefer, however, my hubby was a little disappointed with the portion size, being used to the normally overloaded gyros we are typically served and accustomed to.

I found the Pastitsio very disappointing. It’s one of my favorite Greek dishes and I make it at home, often. I found it dry and lacking seasoning. It was served with a side of marinara and Parmesan cheese, which I found odd, but realized the next day with my leftovers (usually there is none with Pastitsio!) that it brought a little more flavor to the pretty flavorless dish. Big disappointment there and will never order it again. It was a very generous portion and good value for the price, however the lack of flavor (IMO) isn’t worth going back for.

Will definitely go back for the gyros and to try some...
