Esme's and Ruby's Restaurant — Restaurant in Thomaston

I was looking for a restaurant that is different for breakfast and I found it in Esme's and Ruby's!

I had a breakfast burrito with eggs, Mexican sausage, peppers and onions and cheese with a side of their potatoes and i literally was in heaven! Every bite was out of this world! I usually only eat half of my food and yet i could not stop and i ate every bite! I was so excited about this meal i forgot to take a pic! Well...you will have to see for yourself!

I am sitring here on a Saturday morning anxious to wake up hubby and go to breakfast! Just saying...but this is my sleeping time because i am a nigbt owl and yet...i can't sleep because i want to go and see what else i can try for breakfast!

Also... They make the tastiest scones i have ever had from scratch! I had an apple and cinnamon flavor and hubby had a fruit flavor and both were huge and delicious!

Btw... the owner owns Senor Panchos next door and they are really great people who have experience in the restaurant business. They eventually plan to have a dinner menu but for now they serve breakfast and lunch.

I’ve been coming to Esme & Rubys for the last several months. The coffee WAS delicious. The menu WAS amazing. Fast forward to June 2025… & I’m extremely unhappy with the direction that the restaurant is going.

Their new menus look great… physically and aesthetically… but their options are now very limited, pricing is also higher than previously.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, the restaurant is only open for breakfast & lunch. That being said…

My husband LOVED the Philly Cheesesteak Grinder. It was delicious and always his go to. We come in on a planned date only to find out it’s no longer available. Waitress checked & yes, they could still make it… yet they offer no grinder type bread… so that obviously won’t work.

I understand that the restaurant is under new ownership, but this is just sad. I really hope things take a turn for the better because I’m not sure that I’ll return at this point. 😭

ETA:

The Pulled Pork omelet was filled with very fatty meat. It was also dry which is unappealing. The Bacon Cheddar Omelet was good, but different than last time. Previously there had been a cheddar cheese sauce, this time it was just melted cheddar. But it was still ok. A bit pricey though...

I just had my mother's memorial today and asked Barbara to cater. I also asked that everything sandwiches, salads, brownies and cookies be wrapped in individual serving sizes. With Covid alot of people feel uncomfortable eating around other people so this way those that wanted to take it home could. I supplied the paper bags. The food was great and as expected people felt safe to grab something open it up and eat it. Those that didn't feel comfortable loved being able to take it home, brown bagging it. Thank you so much Barbara for doing this special order. Almost everything was gone and we had a great time. Your the best and I will recommend you to everyone. Caroline...
