Sharks Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Thornton Township

Update: October 11, 2023. While waiting for my daughter to be serviced at the nearby hair salon, I decided to give this location another try and I’m glad to report that it was a good decision. The cashier who waited on me named Aaliyah was very kind and professional. She has changed my previous views about this location. Customer service goes a long way👍🏻👍🏻

I called in to place an order over the phone for a shrimp basket. I was told they only cook the shrimp once you are in the restaurant. I was more than willingly to pay over the phone as you can with most restaurants, only to be told phone payment is not an option. 😖I proceed to the store and upon arrival, I asked the cashier if that was the case with all their food. “Do you only cook it once the customer arrives?” He said no, it’s just the shrimp because people don’t always come in to pick up and it’s hard to resell shrimp due to its short shelf life. While I was simply asking to better understand the reason, the cashier seemed annoyed with me questioning him and walked away right in the middle of me talking to him. SO RUDE! Owner: Please higher employees who know how to “professionally” interact with customers. This isn’t acceptable. I asked a reasonable question and...

I asked the young lady about specials. As a customer how would I know unless I ask, is my thought. Go from me asking a question about food for my family and deals to getting the police called on me for being rude lol. Police arrived and we had a nice conversation and agreed there may be a lot going on in this young woman’s live outside of work…lol plus no need to spend money in this establishment if there are plenty others. To think the embarrassment I felt but I’m no coward and running away from something I did not do…naw can not fold on this one…honestly I put myself in the situation when I first walked in and witnessed the interaction before mines…young lady was downright how dismissive and rude with the older gentleman in front of me…smdh well never again…but FYI the sharks less then 5 miles straight south on Burnham directly across from Heritage Middle School- top notch service and the food is on point…glad they are all franchised cuz man…well choose...

I'm only giving it a 2 because normally I don't have this issue. Have been ordering food from here since I moved around the corner and they opened up. Today I called to make an order for pickup. I have family visiting, so it wasn't going to be a small order. Phone rings. Lady picks up, says something I couldn't really make out. I noticed the voice, being as though she has been working there for a while. I responded " hey how you doing ma'am, let me order..." I was abruptly interrupted. She says "I am not a man I am a lady!" I then responded with "I said ma'am with an M. I know you are a woman." She replied "What you want to order?" 🤔 I kindly hung the phone up and carried myself to JJ's to make my order. Lost this customer and I surely will not refer anyone to this location. I'm overly bothered by this as it almost destroyed my craving for chicken with...
