Casa Nostra in Westlake Village is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. From the moment I step inside, I am always greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location, formerly known as the Plug Nickel, provides ample parking, making it convenient for diners. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere.
One of the things that stand out for me is the exceptional food they serve. Every dish I have tried at this restaurant has been spot-on. What truly sets Casa Nostra apart is its attention to detail and dedication to using high-quality ingredients. Each dish is prepared with care, resulting in flavors that are both vibrant and authentic.
I indulged in a delightful meal starting with the appetizer special, Burrata with sliced truffles. The creamy and decadent Burrata perfectly complemented the earthy aroma of the truffles, creating a heavenly combination. The Caesar salad was classic, with crisp romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, and a tangy dressing, not too tangy but just right. The Bruschetta was a delicious appetizer, featuring crusty bread topped with ripe tomatoes, and basil. For my main course, I opted for the Chicken Piccata, and it was a true highlight. The tender chicken, with a tangy lemon and caper sauce, was bursting with flavor and paired beautifully with the recommended bottle of wine we shared. Every dish was a testament to Casa Nostra's commitment to quality and attention to detail, making my dining experience truly...
Read moreRecently, my wife and I stopped at Casa Nostra in Westlake Village during our drive, enticed by its convenient location and stellar ratings. While I can only comment on the salad and the chicken parmigiana we shared, the experience left much to be desired.
Opting for a lighter meal, we split a salad featuring mixed greens, which pleasantly met our expectations. However, the same cannot be said for the chicken parmigiana, which regrettably stands out as one of the least satisfying renditions I've encountered. The chicken lacked the freshness one would expect and had a disappointingly rubbery texture. Furthermore, the dish seemed to overcompensate with an excess of cheese, perhaps attempting to mask the subpar taste of the protein. The scarcity of sauce only compounded the lackluster impression.
Even the seemingly fail-proof roasted potatoes, a personal favorite, proved to be a letdown. Drenched in oil, each bite was dominated by the overpowering taste of oil, detracting from the potential enjoyment of the side dish.
Despite the redeeming quality of the mixed greens salad, the overall experience at Casa Nostra fell short of our expectations. The lackluster performance of a staple Italian dish, the chicken parmigiana, leaves me hesitant to recommend this establishment or consider a return visit. It's unfortunate that a premier dish did not live up to the standards one would anticipate from an...
Read moreLet me start by saying: We love restaurants , and we are dining outside a lot all over LA. Somehow, we never been here. I guess it's because we live in the San Fernando Valley area, and mostly looking for restaurants around here, in Hollywood or Beverly Hills. We are barely driving north. This time, we were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate my birthday, and my son's birthday. My daughter in law found this place, and we went yesterday (Saturday) for dinner. We were 15 people (included kids). our experience was OUTSTANDING! This is one of the BEST restaurants we have ever been to. This is a gorgeous Italian restaurant, with EXCELLENT service (by far, the Best service we have ever seen!), and delicious food. Everything was top notch. We were greeted by the owner himself, who also came a few times to the table to check on us. The staff was around us ALL the time (although the restaurant was packed), and the food? EVERY dish was unbelievably amazing : the Bruschetta, the Pastas, the Steak, the Branzino, the Desserts (!). literally everything was so tasty with a very high quality, which makes you feel like you are in Italy. We enjoyed every bite and every minute here, and such a wonderful birthday celebration . To my opinion, it worth driving from anywhere in LA. Do not miss this awesome restaurant. We will be back for...
