This used to be my absolute favorite coffee shop. I would drive twelve miles out of my way to come here. The service was phenomenal, and the pastries were all made in house, gluten free, and some of the best I’ve ever had. Sadly, over time, it’s changed. Pastries are no longer made in house, but rather shipped in from another bakery and three times as expensive. The cheerful staff that used to greet me has been replaced with people that barely make eye contact and act like they are irritated to have another customer. It makes me sad because this really used to be such a special place, but it’s become an experience that I hold my breath for because it’s now hit or miss every time. I have ordered online multiple times, only to show up and find that my order was lost, or taken by another customer. In one instance, I ordered in store, and after 20 minutes inquired about my drink and was told it was being made. I asked after another 10 minutes and was told the same thing. Fast forward another 15 minutes and I’m told they don’t have the order on their que and have no idea what happened. I attempted to order over the phone recently, and was first told no. Then I was told that because it was one drink, that was ok. I arrived one minute after closing time to pick up my drink, paid immediately and tipped generously, and when I was handed my drink I was told “just so you know, we aren’t going to do this for you again. This was a one time thing” as if I was being scolded like a child for some grand inconvenience to the business. So much for appreciating peoples’ business… save yourself the trouble and just go to Starbucks next time; at least they can...
Read moreQuality of service is going downhill. For several moths now I have had to remind them to put in ingredients into my drink that should already come with it. We took our friends here last week and they got dirty Chai lattes, and theirs were just normal lattes. We have ordered hot drinks and gotten iced drinks in return. My wife just came home with an order she put online with a message to put bourbon sugar in my drink. My bourbon Carmel latte didn't come with the bourbon sugar on it, and our Avocado toast didn't have olive oil on it. The manager said because of covid they don't put sugar on my drink? Regardless of where we are at with Covid, how does not putting sugar on my drink behind the bar when they are making my drink break a covid regulation.
I called to just express my concern about the place because my family loves coming here. The "manager" I spoke to was trying to rush me off the phone because Saturdays are busy. My only hope with calling was that she would bring my complaint to the owners and maybe get a training update for their employees because I do not want to have to look for a new coffee shop.
I do not want to be the person to inspect my food and drink to make sure the employees did it correctly. Then have to ask them to make it correctly and be "that person". Please if you are the owner and are reading this, retrain your staff about consistency of product creation. This inconvenience and inconsistency will cause your loyal customers to...
Read moreI hesitate to write this critical review because the team that works here was very friendly. I also acknowledge that it was Black Friday and quite busy. Nonetheless, with good intentions in mind, I encourage the owner/manager to invest in some barista training.
I can get over not having foam art, which our cappuccinos did not have, but I couldn’t get over the terrible taste of our drinks. It was like separated sour milk with a hint of bad espresso.
After a 15 minute wait, we watched as our espresso was pulled and proceeded to sit in a pouring jar and then our cup for more than 5 minutes. The flat, separated milk was unceremoniously dumped into the cold, oxidized espresso resulting in a lumpy off-white concoction that would only be acceptable as a decent cappuccino at the free breakfast buffet of a mid-priced hotel chain.
The chaos behind the bar discouraged us from asking for our drinks to be remade. Our drinks tasted so bad we just threw them away after the first couple sips.
Kindness is hard to train, which thankfully, the folks here seemed not to lack. They just need a little help with the...
