I've been wanting to stop by here, as lots of good things are being said about the food. The first thing I noticed is that there really isnt any signage for this place. When I opened the door to what I thought was the restaurant, I wasn't sure until I looked around inside.
Now that I found the place, on to the food!
Combo Sandwich Best of both worlds, Italian sausage topped with Italian beef. I added hot peppers to mine and this was one amazing sandwich! The flavor from the sausage and the beef combined, and individually, was awesome. I loved every bite of it and can't say enough about the flavors. The bread was hearty enough to hold it all, yet still soft and chewy. I really liked that.
Chili Cheese Fries When these arrived at my table, they weren't presented how I was expecting them. I'm used to chili cheese fries served with the chili and cheese on top of the fries. No utensils were served with these, so I ate them as I thought they were intended…as a dipping dish… The fries.. well, I wouldn't go out of my way to get them.. They were served somewhat lukewarm, borderline cold. Shoestring fries that were very limp and not crisp. Now, to the best part of this item. The chili. The chili tasted outstanding! I really loved the flavor and it had a nice meaty consistency. The cheese sauce was unique and was really good as well. This wasn't your typical nacho cheese sauce. It had a different, slightly elevated, flavor profile that I couldn't place.
Overall, some really good food here sans the fries. Great beef, sausage and chili. I would definitely come back for some more of the...
Read moreIf you’re not eating at TNG Chicago, what are you even doing with your life? This place is the real deal, no joke. I’ve been hunting for a legit Chicago beef spot in California for YEARS, and TNG absolutely crushes it.
Let’s talk about the food: the traditional beef sandwich with peppers is hands-down my favorite. The bread is perfect—soft enough to soak up all that glorious jus, but sturdy enough to hold together until the last bite. The beef? Tender, juicy, and piled HIGH. And those peppers—just the right kick to make you sweat a little and smile a lot. Every bite is a flavor bomb that takes me straight back to the Windy City.
But it’s not just the food that makes this place a legend—the staff is awesome. Super friendly, always on top of things, and they make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. And then there’s Tommy, the owner. This guy is an authentic Italian Chicagoan, and it shows. He’s hilarious, welcoming, and will go out of his way to make sure you’re happy. You can tell he puts his heart and soul into every sandwich and every customer experience.
Don’t even get me started on the dogs and fries. Everything is fresh, hot, and made with serious love. The vibe is chill, and you can tell these folks care about what they’re serving.
Bottom line: TNG Chicago is a must-try. If you want a sandwich that’ll make you rethink every other sandwich you’ve ever had, get yourself the traditional beef with peppers. You’ll thank me later. Five...
Read moreT & G’s is such a great place! I was pleasantly surprised to see all the choices on the menu. I had a tough time choosing and it was all delicious! I had the Italian beef and sausage combo. The sausage was cooked perfectly and the bread was great, the beef had a perfect seasoning to it and it wasn’t salty or dry at all. My sandwich had sweet peppers and provolone too which made it all perfection! I’m going to try the pepper and egg sandwich next. Portions were plenty. Atmosphere is great where kids would love the open space outside too in its beautiful location. Atmosphere is upbeat bright and fun. Staff is experienced in the restaurant business as it shows in their dedication to top notch customer service! Can’t wait to dry desserts!! Thank you for reminding me about how awesome an authentic Italian combo like Chicago’s can be right here in...
