Froehlich's Bakery — Restaurant in Three Oaks Township

Froehlich's is basically the best.

I first discovered them at the Chesterton European Market. They were selling phenomenal jams (strawberry rhubarb is the best, but they're all very good).

Then I realized they had a store in Three Oaks and I was over the moon, but I had no idea they offered so much more!

The best is their baked goods. They offer tasty creations that look like they come from an upscale bakery in a big city. The menu changes, but I've never been disappointed with the selection of fresh baked goods.

They also sell some frozen meals you can cook in the oven, very good.

They have a wide variety of salsas, sauces, and spice mixes and there are even recipes to go with them in case you're not sure how you would use them the best. I haven't tried any of the savory items, but they have a caramel bourbon sauce to die for.

There are also a number of trendy (and somewhat less trendy) items in the store. Those get changed up a lot, so if you see something you want - snatch it up!

There's outdoor seating and maybe a couple of tables inside, but I usually take my delectable eatables home... or eat them on the way.

They offer catering for the holidays or you can placed orders for bake goods whenever. I bought some amazing egg nog filled donuts and a holiday stollen.

You should absolutely follow them on facebook, they're very active and you'll find out about all kinds of delicious foods they make, what markets they'll be at, and even fun stuff happening...

The service and the baked items are wonderful! I wish I remember the name of the lady that went above and beyond, but my fiancé and I were inquiring about breads today & their bakery across the street that they own was closed but on the other side was open (where we were at). She went across the street & opened it up and had a huge tray of several different kind of breads. We were so impressed! She lifted that huge tray from across the street that was closed already to show us the bread… we bought two loaves plus the cookies. They really went above and beyond and we will keep coming back when we are in town. I was reading some of the other reviews and the one that had the low star rating was being a bit nit picky. It was only one week of the Best by date. That is not the same as an expiration date. That just means that it’s Best by a certain time, but it’s not bad. I could see if it was a year past that. Bought a 7in chocolate cake from there on-hand freezer for my fiance's birthday...it was absolutely delicious and well liked by all. I bought it on a Thursday (kept in freezer) and thawed and eaten on the following Wednesday...still moist, delicious and decadent. Also bought deviled eggs, 2 cookies, a strawberry pistachio slice, OMG chocolate cake slice, salted pecan bars and the crown candles(for the cake). Staff was very polite and all bakery items were delicious... Will definitely be back and would love to try the deli across the street sometimes. Looked up their event venue website as we are getting married June of 2022 but it was a bit over what we could spend. Definitely thinking of inquiring about their wedding cakes and dessert catering because everything was...
