I decided to try this place, I do like home style meals. First of all, it was very hard to find. When I got there, I was unsure what door to use, the one at the side or front of the building. Neither were marked as entrance. The dining area is quite large with counter seating. Waitress was very, not overly, friendly. I asked for suggestions on breakfast or lunch. She said their breakfast was very good. I went with that. Ordered decaf coffee, as I have kidney issues. She had to make a pot. I did get as sample of their sausage gravy, as I don't like it too peppery. So for breakfast I got decaf coffee and biscuits and gravy. While waiting, I had to use the restroom. The waitress said to go through the door at the back of the room, turn left then right . Went through the door, walked right into the room they wash dishes in. It was dirty and smelly. Turned left into a tiny hallway..left was the kitchen and right was the restroom. I couldn't bring myself to look into the kitchen. Bathroom was clean, the handle on the toilet was broken, but it flushed.. When I got my coffee, they only had sugar on the table. I asked for sweetener. They only had equal...no biggie, I usually bring Splenda with me but forgot. The decaf coffee was , not good. I drink coffee for the taste. When my biscuits and gravy came, it had potatoes with it. They were both hot and good. But, to be honest, after the smell of the back room, I had a hard time eating my food. Am I glad I tried this place? Absolutely! Will I go back?...
Read moreStopped for breakfast and had high hopes. With the rating this place has, I was sure let down. We knew they closed in a half hour so we ordered the most simple things. Scrambled eggs with cheese and biscuits and gravy. We wouldn’t have minded the nearly 30 minute wait for our breakfast if a man hadnt come in well after us, ordered steak and eggs, and somehow got his meal before us, not to mention he was given my eggs. Our food finally comes and I ask about the cheese on my eggs. Didn’t want to wait even longer so I just asked for cheese in the side. Trying to be as easy as possible. The eggs weren’t great with cold cheese in them, and the biscuits and gravy came out literally cold. Not even warm. I don’t understand how the smallest easiest breakfast could have been that difficult to achieve. I just can’t get over a whole steak and egg breakfast being made well after we ordered and somehow getting his food first while we got ours cold and wrong. The back area with the bathroom is awful and smelly. The toilet handle was made of duct tape. Just not inviting when I’m about to eat. The positives were the potatoes that came with the meal were hot and delicious. The staff was friendly. That’s about all I can say though. Probably won’t return as this was my second time trying and my second time being...
Read moreI'm going to edit my review because of my experience today... I hate to do that but I felt as though our waitress was so rude, and I don't think we will be back. We started off good, food got to our table fairly fast. My husband got an omelet, I got the "traditional." My eggs were slightly undercooked but they weren't too bad. Got to my potatoes and I only ate two bites and couldn't finish them. They were still hard and undercooked. And my husband got 2/3 through his omelet and bit into shells! I wasn't trying to not pay for our meal or anything, just wanted them to know, really. But the waitress pretty much was super loud and aggressive taking the plates from the table saying we don't need to pay or leave her a tip when we asked for her to break a bigger bill to at least five her a tip. I really feel like she could have handled the situation a little better.
The Gravy definitely needed doctored with some pepper but everything...
