My husband & I went here & It was not good!!! He ordered the chicken cordon bleu, first of all it was deep fried, the chicken was so thin they couldn't stuff it with the ham so they just threw a very thin piece on top.We have never had chicken cordon bleu anywhere that it was deep fried .It didn't say it was deep fried on the menu.I ordered liver& onions, it was very tuff& tasted old. It was almost like they weren't going to buy anymore food untill they used up what they had before the shutdown. I've had alot better for alot less.!!
l think $14.00 for liver & onions is high ( no salad ) I ordered an iced tea.I asked the waitress for a straw she informed me that they only had bar straws & she couldn't touch them. They could have bought some wrapped straws.Same thing with the salt & pepper. Instead of buying some tiny disposable salt
& pepper shakers or packets the waitress came over & salted my food.Totally unprofessional not to mention it made me feel really uncomfortable.Maybe I wanted to put salt on it again. It would have been nice if I could have put salt on it when I wanted it.
On the menu it said you could get soup & salad bar with your meal for $2.99 extra.Since no one has salad bars now she said we could get a side salad. We asked her what kind of soup they had she said you don't get any soup.I thought you should at least get a cup of soup. She still charged us $2.99. Also they didn't have disposable menus like places are supposed to!! My husband asked her if they had blue cheese dressing. She never said anything but she charged him $1.00 for a very tiny cup that wasn't even half full.If he would have asked her for some more dressing would she have charged him again? I wonder. The whole experience wasn't good.
When we went to leave l went to the restroom. It was very dirty.
The toilet bowls had black rings around them. They hadn't been cleaned in a long time. If I would have went in there first we would have left. You know what they say about first impressions!!!
I tried to call the owner to discuss some of my concerns.I couldn't talk to him. They said he wasn't there so I
left a message.A few days later he called,we weren't home.I called him back. The man I spoke to told me he wasn't in.I left another message. He didn't call me back. Two weeks & 4 messages later I never heard from him! I gave up,I guess he's not interested in what his customers have to say or think.
The whole experience was very dissapointing considering it was our ANNIVERSARY. WE went there because we heard it was supposed to be a nice place. Not to mention we drove almost 90 miles to get there.Oh well Happy Anniversary to Us!!! What a waste of time & money considering both of our meals were lousy & overpriced. How anyone could say this place is good...
Read moreI was hoping to have a nice, enjoyable dinner here with a dear cousin. The atmosphere of the old mill was decent, we were set at a corner table by the windows. We ordered an appetizer. A special menu insert, focaccia bread with three dips bread appetizer that was quite good. My cousin ordered the mahi mahi dinner and I ordered the swordfish. The waitress didn't ask how we wanted it cooked, and we didn't think to ask, but should have.... Her mahi came out quite rare, which was perfect for her. My swordfish was completely overcooked. Dry, tough, stringy, ruined. I took one bite and after chewing and chewing and chewing....thought I'd never get it down. My baked potato was not much better....browned on the inside. No fluff to it at all, just dense, brown potato which was hard to even mash up with the butter and sour cream. It was not hot, so by the time I had it prepared, it was cold. This was at approximately 5:00 on a Sunday. They open at 1:00... I'm thinking it almost had to be held over from the day before. Unacceptable. The waitress did not bother to come back to our table to check on us until my friend was finished with her dinner and I had eaten my awful potato and the few pieces of broccoli on my plate. The waitress finally came back and saw that I had not eaten my fish, so she offered to bring me the menu so I could pick something else. By then I wasn't going to order another dinner, so I asked to take a trip to the salad bar instead. We each ordered the chocolate cake for dessert, which comes with ice cream. She brought mine out while I was at the salad bar, so I barely ate a small plate of salad and my soup went to waste because I didn't want my ice cream to melt before I got to it. 🥴 I feel like the waitress should have known better than to bring mine right away, but again, I guess I should have told her, maybe she just doesn't have critical thinking skills. Spoiler alert. If you decide to patronize this restaurant and you get the 10 layer chocolate cake, know that it is enough cake for 4 people... Possibly 6. I didn't see it on the menu, so I don't know if they advertise that fact. I think it was around $15. It tasted fine. Moist and chocolatey. Nothing spectacular, just some sort of tall, layered, sweet restaurant supply cake. The cost of my swordfish dinner was removed from the bill and I was charged for the salad bar, which I barely touched. I typically have a pretty strong gut, but I'm writing this the next afternoon and I still feel pretty crappy from that meal. Just not good quality food and not a...
Read moreThis was mine and my husband's first time eating here. Rocky was our waiter. Rocky was polite but not very attentive. He made no recommendations. We ordered the surf and turf. He had filet mignon and crab cake and I had filet mignon and shrimp scampi. We got the soup and salad bar as our side. The salad bar was meager and they offered 1 soup which was chili mac. We got our plates and I had 5 shrimp swimming in butter with cherry tomatoes and spinach, apparently that's the scampi. My husband's crab cake was sitting on a bed of crunchy fried spinach leaves and a pile of orange sauce on the side. Both steaks were sitting on a type of crouton. The steaks were bland. I wanted steak sauce for flavor but Rocky was nowhere to be found. I would think he would have stopped shortly after getting our plates to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. He finally showed up and we got steak sauce. I was half way through my meal and Rocky stopped by with the check and asked are you done? I replied no, he said ok I'll be back. He came back when I was done and sat the check down and left. No offer of dessert or anything. The other 2 girls working were attentive to their guests and offered dessert, coffee, after dinner drinks. The check included a drink tax and a food tax, what the heck is that? The women's bathroom has 3 stalls but only one was in operation. The ceiling tiles were water stained or missing. The place is nice and could be a booming business with a little update to some things. We probably...
