Here's a bit of constructive criticism. 1st impression was just eh. 2nd impression was when were seated at a table of 4 in the middle of the room just past the open kitchen. It was like a table of 2 squeezed in to 4. There was a booth like table but with 4 chairs right behind us. We decided we rather sit there. We looked around for someone to ask if it was ok to relocated. Waited, didn't see anyone so we decided we would explain once our server or anyone else showed up. A thin male server came from nowhere and said "NO, we can't sit there. I ask why not? He said because he just sat a "large" table of 6 and it would be a while before he could take our orders. Being confused I asked what he was talking about and why couldn't our server just turn around and take our orders? He said because it was "his station" and that we would be waiting a long time to be served due the other table. Weird and didn't seem like a big deal so we sat back down at the original table. As soon as we sit back down, another party of 4 is sat at the table we wanted to move to. Turns out our order taken about the same time he was taking theirs. Maybe our server was slower or didn't want to wait on us. Whichever it was, it is suggested he should learn to be more accommodating and professional to figure out a way to resolve the situation instead of saying "we can't sit there".
We get our food which was "eh". Chicken breast sandwich was dry and flavorless. Surprised it wasn't served with some sort of sauce or flavored mayo. Burgers were "ok". All of the kaiser rolls looked and tasted stale. They should be nice and soft. The fries and shrimp tacos were great.
I asked our server for an order of chicken wings to go. You would think it would be brought out at the "end" of our meal. Instead, she brings it to the table about 15 mins. into us eating our meal. I gave her a "really ?" look because she attempts to put the "large" bag on the already small table while we were eating. I guess when she saw my look before I could say something, she said she'll take it back to the until were finished. Don't get me wrong, our server was very friendly, just a bit inexperienced in her timing of checking on us, bringing a takeout order way too soon. Mozzarella sticks come out without severing plates. We told the young lady who brought them out we needed serving plates that never came. Once we saw our server, she gave us some.
I heard so much about this place that I had to try it out. That was a no go for me. The 1st interaction with that male server set the tone for me. Who knows, maybe I'll try it again when it's not pouring buckets...
Read moreI’ve been patronizing the Pour House since the late 60’s when my parents would take me. I would only order a restaurant burger here because when charcoal grilled behind the bar and covered with thick Wisconsin cheddar cheese (placed with a huge spoon it’s so thick) nothing compares. If sitting at a table instead of the bar, the kitchen would prepare the burger and it was like most restaurant burgers…OK, but greasy as it is fried instead of charbroiled. During the pandemic The Pour House stopped offering cooked behind the bar so I ate other items. Stopped in this month with a burger craving and was told the bar grill was broken and the Cheddar Burger would come from the kitchen, but my server assured me and my daughter they would be char broiled. We reluctantly agreed and ordered two done medium. Such a disappointment. Not only were they rare (which if charbroiled would have been acceptable) they were unappealingly gray in color and extremely greasy. Disgusted we asked for the check and our server noticed we only took one bite and didn’t even ask what was wrong. I flagged down a manager and he removed them from the bill. Just a disappointment-once famous for their char broiled Cheddar Burgers, I don’t recommend you go to the Pour House for...
Read moreWe come in every Thursday after my daughter has tennis every time all is good. Tonight we go in order nachos they come out wrong waitress brings them back to kitchen to have them remade with out the lettuce and tomato all the do is scrape off the lettuce and tomatoes and top half of the nachos put more cheese on top and send it back out so we ended up with half an order of nachos with no chilli Then Manger comes over to table and tells us that is the way we do it now and they where right sorry. I was not trying to get anything for free I wanted them to make me another one they did not. The customer is always right I like good food and have no problem paying for it but then waited 45 min for the rest of our dinner. Not happy waitress was very nice Manger needs to go back to tranning. Total bill 71.04 for 3 apps and and 2 kids meals they lost a customer over $10 nachos. We have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years but to be treated this way was wrong I did not ask for them for free I just wanted them made the way I wanted them. Even waitress noticed they where not right. I gave the waitress 20% tip because I understand it was...
