Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury — Attraction in Shrewsbury

A simple review truly cannot incorporate the sheer happiness The Shadowbrook brought to my now wife and I on our wedding day (10/24/2015). But we will give it a shot.

A little over a year ago we booked The Shadowbrook with the previous owner and couldn’t have been any happier or excited to begin the planning process. A couple months in we found out that the venue was sold to new owners. My fiancé and I reluctantly went in to meet the new owners/management and were told of all these new plans they had to “update The Shadowbrook”. The problem we had was we loved the venue as is and really didn’t want to see it changed. That day Mark and Amy asked us to simply trust them and that we wouldn’t be disappointed. The Shadowbrook BLEW AWAY our expectations.

FOOD: The cocktail hour was unbelievable. The amount of food, the quality of food and the presentation of food truly left us speechless. Everywhere we looked there was something else. As we walked around every guest could not stop raving about the variety different stations set up. If you name it they had it. The cocktail hour set HIGH expectations and the seated dinner met those expectations. Salad and crab cake were delicious, entrees were all cooked to perfection. Entrée of the night was the Chilean Sea bass. Food was all served hot and cooked to perfection, which sometimes can be a challenge when serving that many people. Then came the after party…after a couple drinks what’s better than egg sandwiches, sliders, hotdogs, pizzas, disco fries, ice cream sandwiches? Food beginning to end was 5 out of 5 stars.

SERVICE: The quality of food was truly matched by the quality of service. Mark and his staff rocked. Exceeded all of our expectations. Drinks were always full, everything was immaculately clean and food was constantly being served. Staff was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. A special thanks to Jerry, the Maitre D’ and Brittany, The Bridal Attendant. Jerry put on a show managing the evening. Everything ran like clockwork and completely allowed my fiancé and I to relax. He couldn’t have been any more organized, accommodating and friendly. Brittany stole the show. From the second we walked into the door until the second we left she didn’t give us the opportunity to ever have the need to ask for anything. My fiancé and I honestly cannot say enough great things about her. Anything and everything we needed she gave. She was so sincere and helpful throughout the entire day. She is the type of person that a Bride and Groom could only dream about having to help out the day of their wedding.

ATMOSPHERE: When we first booked The Shadowbrook we really thought we found the venue of our dreams. We were wrong…the NEW and IMPROVED Shadowbrook became the venue of our dreams. The grounds/gardens were immaculate, the fall décor inside and outside gave that warm touch and the new renovations to floors and hall ways really cleaned the place up. It looks amazing! Cannot wait to see what else they have in store.

My wife and I hope down the road that we are invited to a wedding at The Shadowbrook just to experience the day all over again. We would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. We sincerely wish every bride and groom could experience the service, hospitality and experience we did. I do not even know where to begin. We got married here last weekend and it was absolutely perfect. When we first walked into the Shadowbrook I knew that would be where I would be getting married. The venue is absolutely breath taking. And then you start meeting the staff and it gets even better. We met and booked with Mark who was fantastic, answered every question imaginable and whenever I asked to speak with him he got right on the phone and calmed my nerves. He was there the night of our wedding and made sure everything was great for us. Not only did he make sure everything was great at the Shadowbrook but he also recommended the best vendors possible for DJ, photography, limo, shuttle services and even hotel accommodations. Next comes Amy who is the most perfect person ever, she is definitely in the right field of work! She knows so much about The Shadowbrook and what is going on. Nothing was too big nor too small for her, she made sure everything was going to be perfect for us. Right down to the blue champagne we wanted for our toast. Our Maître D was Matt and our bridal attendant was Steph, there is not enough I can say about them. Every time I turned around they were there with a plate of food or a new drink, or my lipstick that Steph carried around for me all night long. At the end of the night I was frantically trying to sample the dessert and Matt told me to enjoy the last few minutes we had left and he would package up some dessert for me, well he packaged an entire tray of delicious desserts that we're still enjoying! Even Dan was fantastic, I met Dan for the first time when I had my drop off appointment but he was there the entire night of our wedding and he also made sure everything was perfect and kept asking if we needed anything, and even got us drinks and food. Every time I went back to our sweetheart table there was a new cold fresh drink waiting for us whether we took one sip or finished the glass from the other drink a new one was there for us. From booking this venue over a year and a half ago to our wedding night I can not say enough about how perfect it all went. There was literally nothing to worry about and everyone deserves a wedding like that. I have a few friends who have gotten married at other venues and they have said "this went wrong, this went wrong...but no one would have known but me..." well I can happily and confidentially say nothing went wrong. People always say something will go wrong nothing is ever perfect.. well our night was PERFECT. The food was amazing, it's almost a week later and people are still raving about it, the staff was fantastic quick, prompt and made everyone feel important. They made sure to treat us like royalty all night long and that is exactly how we felt, like a king and queen! We seriously cannot thank the entire team enough at The Shadowbrook for making a...

Dear team, Mark, Carl, Dan, Stephanie, Amy, let me write you a glowing, shouting from the roof tops, THANK YOU. Everything (just about) was perfect from the very beginning. WHAT a TEAM!! Everyone was excellent (polite, efficient and helpful), I have no words to describe the food. "Simple Delicious", the bartending staff was excellent (kept up with the orders with a smile), and all of you set up a very hardworking crew (on a very special-historical night for our family) Thank you Mark, Carl and Dan for putting together the most exclusive-delicious food menu. Thank you Dan for all your hard work and dedication. Your professionalism on the scale from 1to10 is a 1000. Every minute of the night Mark, Carl, and Dan you really surprised us. Dan, the ice-cream and the coffee shop setting was an incredible unexpecting surprise. Dan words cannot describe it our gratitude's. The cocktail room for Alexa, Daniel and the was incredible beautiful, elegant, so much food was displayed and delicious drinks. The smile on each staff members was just an inspiration for every person who attend to our celebration. Our guests enjoyed themselves immensely and have been sharing their sincere compliments about what an exceptional time they had. They absolutely loved the patio with the fireplace. Dan, BIG THANKS for setting the gifts-cards table, OMG "Outstanding job" Mike Gregorio and his entertainment company are THE BEST OF THE BEST!! THANK YOU to the chef's, the kitchen staff members, the security company!! OMG THE BEST!! THANK you to the staff to keep the bathrooms extremely clean and thank you for their beautiful smiling faces! What a happy people's!! THANK YOU for the food display! I loved my Cuban piggy! THANK YOU!!. The SUSHIBAR was a hot corner for all teenager's. To all of you THANK YOU you so much for all of your help and assistance planning our beautiful children's BIG EVENT at the SHADOWBROOK It was the day we had hoped for 15 years – beautiful and fun for all. We received so many compliments about the setting, the lovely room, the meal, the flowers. It all come together! We will always have the fondest of memories of our children's birthday's.
