When you’re roaming around the north Dayton suburb of Tipp City, you are bound to get hungry and while there are chain restaurants you can visit, a better option is one of the local dining spots. One that I visited with my family and liked is Harrison’s Restaurant, located in downtown Tipp City. Harrison’s menu consists of American style food, with appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, entrees, etc. There is a full-service bar, too, so you can get just the right beverage to match your tastes and pair with your food. The interior is divided into a bar section and a regular dining section, with a good deal of seating. Be sure to check out the daily specials. There is one for each day of the week and the deals are quite good! With its brick interior and photographs on the walls, from the past, Harrison’s has an historic vibe. This is one of Harrison’s standout qualities. You feel like you have stepped back in time, and it does give the restaurant a cozy, comfortable feel. For parking, just look for a place on the street. It shouldn’t take too long to find a spot. I enjoyed my food at Harrison’s and my family members felt the same. The City Mac and Cheese I ordered was cheesy and satisfying. Other family members enjoyed their burgers, salads, and desserts also. Another standout at Harrison’s is the friendly, courteous service. The wait staff timed everything just right- I was never waiting for a beverage refill and the food was served in reasonable time. Harrison’s is right in the heart of downtown Tipp City, and it has much to offer the hungry tourist. Locals love it here, and a visit makes it easy to understand why. Tasty American food, attentive service, and a comfortable, historic atmosphere make Harrison’s worth a visit.

While traveling back to Georgia & visiting a friend in Tipp City, he decided to take me to Harrison's, one of his favorite dining establishments. The location is right downtown in the main business district. After being greeted by the friendly Hostess, we were promptly seated. Upon a recommendation by our lovely server, Aimee McIntosh, we both chose the Walleye. For appetizer's we had French Onion & Chicken Noodle Soup. Our sides were a loaded Baked Potato & Sweet Potato Soufle. From dessert we both had the Creme Brulee. All I can say is, everything was absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly. Aimee was very polite, professional, and just a Sweetheart. Thank you Harrison's, & Aimee, for giving me an amazing dining experience.... I will be back!!

Terrific small town restaurant. Nice environment. Cozy, historic and warm feeling. And terrific food. Don't expect anything exotic here. But do expect fresh foods with a few things that are unique, such as the house dressing and ruben rolls (actually made in house as they should be). This is a place where you can feel like family and be served what feels like a home cooked meal. Whether that be a steak, burger, salmon, or onion soup. The home cooked flavors here fine from quality fresh ingredients. Dining here is simply the baseline for what every family owned small town 5 star experience should strive to be. And special requests such as a burger as a lettuce wrap will be accommodated. That's a plus! Eeyore shall return.

The man acting as host looked like he would rather have been doing anything else, and was less than friendly. There weren’t many people, so we were waited on fairly quickly.

The food was just fine without being something to write home about. Good in-house applesauce and sweet potato casserole, decent walleye. Burger OK but would not advise getting meat well done here.

The bad of the experience was provided by the staff. As I said, the host seemed to be in a strange mental space, and there appeared to be something going on with the two waitresses. At one point, I turned around to try to see where the restroom was and the lady who wasn’t waiting on us came barreling down the hallway such that she would have clocked me right in the head if I hadn’t moved quickly. She could see me with time to spare and she was speed walking way to close to the edge of the booths but she didn’t care. It was my fault if she hit me, I guess.

The lady who was waiting on us, on the upside, generally kept things moving at a good pace. However, she only bothered to address one of the people in our group and specifically ignored any comment that didn’t come from that one person (not sure what that was about).

On our way out, the woman that almost took my head off came barreling down the hallway again in the opposite direction and would have collided with us if we hadn’t moved. It really would have been easier for her to just wait for us to vacate the hallway at that point or even move a little to her right, but she just wasn’t going to do that.

To top it off, as we were approaching the door, the host then came through the hallway, also not giving a hoot that we were trying to make our way out or bothering to move to his right (there was enough space for that).

So, I don’t know what was going on, and it’s not the end of the world, but it is something that turned an OK experience, where I may even have gone back, to a definite...

Nice atmosphere, warm and inviting. Polite, fast service. Long time foody, first time patron to Harrisons. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, not many people and seated quickly but did fill up at 4:30pm. Ordered appetizers consisting of cheese curds and another one which was loaded potato chips. Hard to mess up deep fried anything, they were ok. No short supply of Bleu Cheese on my house salad. Too much. Main course of Beef Burgundy tips was a major let down as everything leading up to the food, had you believe you were getting something exciting and flavorful. Wrong. When it arrived the first impression by everyone sitting there was disgust. A rather large size bowl with what appeared to be oily, slimy but somewhat aromatic onion dish. I kid you not. After digging in to this bait box of brown leeches and noodles, I kept expecting at some point I was going to have a flavor explosion. Nothing. It was like driving 50 miles ( which we did) to see a fireworks display, only to see a lone bottle rocket. Wow. Bland, no flavor. Highly disapointed. Waitress did offer other dish, we declined. The artichoke angel hair pasta was not far behind as far as a spark or lack thereof of flavor. The cowboy burger about a 3 as the pretzle bun had the consistancy of as it was reported to this writer " Cardboard" Wish we could have had a better experience instead of a major let down with travel distance and time invested. Was rewarded with hefty bill at the end of the journey though Bland town. Judging by the amount of people coming in after our arrival, there must have been something we just completely missed or didnt get the memo to avoid. Honest review. Lol, Needless to say I caught the flack for my recomendation to take the long drive for this. We didnt even take the remaining large...

My wife and I have been here a couple of times before and enjoyed our experience. I’m not sure what changed since then. We waited approximately 20 minutes for table (not bad at 12:30, end of lunch crowd). After being seated waited almost 10 minutes before someone came to our table. Yes, I started keeping time after no one acknowledge we were there. We placed our order immediately when staff finally came to our table. As we watched others who came in after us get their food, we began to wonder. Gave it a little more time then asked about our food. Wouldn’t you know it, the food came out immediately after it was questioned. Coincidence, I don’t think so. Our expectation was the food would be hot, but no the boneless chicken came out cold. We waited a bit for the staff to come check on us. She was very apologetic and stated it has been super busy with little help. She stated she would make it right and discount the chicken. The manager then came over to the table and apologized for the food and stated she would go one step further and discount our visit by half and offered dessert. We turned down the dessert and thanked her for the discount. We really just wanted to leave. We were approaching 1.5 hours in this place. When we finally got our bill, they had deleted the cost of the chicken, but the remainder stayed the same. We didn’t get the discount the manager stated. Which by this point was ok with us, we just wanted to go. Neither meal was complex. I got the special, cabbage roll and mashed potatoes. My wife got boneless chicken wings and pretzel bites. In the end: Slow service and cold food, however the attempt to make it right was appreciated but was simply spoken words with no follow through. We will not be back...
