I am torn giving this review because I really wanted to be able to give a good review as they are a local bakery, in walking distance of my house. I ordered cupcakes for my daughter's graduation party. I ordered 4 dozen originally. I wanted half to be her graduating school; Tipp, and the other half to be the college that she was going to, Ohio University. I was quoted $120. I then had to add another dozen due to RSVP's and I was quoted $140. I received an invoice the day before her party for $180. I was NOT happy. I called the bakery and the lady that answered said that she would call the owner and then call me back. When she called me back she said that they were firm on the $180 but would give me a $10 discount. I had no choice but to accept it as it was the day before. Still not happy. However, the owner then called me personally, later that evening stating that he would honor the $140. He asked me if they could only decorate a couple dozen in the schools colors and the others in regular icing. I had told him that I really wanted them in the schools' colors/names as that is why I ordered them professionally in the first place. He said okay. I picked them up on 6/1 at 3pm, paid the $140 and went off with them. I didn't check them in the bakery because I was in a hurry and the boxes were taped. When I check them, they are all wrong. The college requested was Ohio University, whose colors are GREEN. They decorated those in red like Ohio State! And even then, all they did was write 'Ohio' in cursive in red icing. Part of my order was carrot cake flavored cupcakes, but I did not get cupcakes, I received these little cakes that were not lined, some cupcakes had purple icing and unfortunately my order was a whole lot of wrong. I called back at the bakery and she gave me the number to the Centerville location because that is where Adam, the owner, was at at the time. I called and left a message and never received a phone call in return. Looking back I should have reiterated that they understood which school Ohio University was and I should have checked my order before I even paid. I was really hoping to give this a 5 star because they honored the original quote but I wouldn't have paid half of that for what I received. The lemon cupcake, which I did not order, tasted good. Sadly, this really was a crushing, 'icing on the cake' moment after a very frustrating, hurdle-filled day, getting to her party. So if you are downtown, shopping and want a sweet treat, it'll be a good stop. If you are needing to place a SPECIALTY order, go...
Read moreHad a special request for my husband's 42nd Birthday and called up this bakery to see if they could make a peanut butter AND Reeses pieces cake that I found example through Pinterest. I was very impressed with the cake flavors and decor as they did a pretty exact replica which tasted amazing. I had called another bakery previously and they did not wanna do one according to my specifications and a bakery should comply with such requests, right? So very happy I went with Sweet Adaline's Bakery cause in the end it was complete perfection... From the kindness of customer service, the cute deliciously smelling bakery, to the flavors and decor of the cake. AMAZING! The chocolate cake was moist and not at all dry like most chocolate cakesz so I will be purchasing more in the future. I will also be stopping in to try all the fresh goodies on the shelf as well....
Read moreHad the pleasure of discovering Sweet Adaline’s Bakery on their OPENING DAY, located next door (to the left of) Topsy Turvy Toys on E Main St. Adam, Peg, and the crew were great, and the baked goods were amazing! We went for the cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon bread, and scones, which were delicious, but the cakes they also make looked equally great.
