Although the decor, and cute theming are a draw; my advice is to skip this restaurant for other local area Asian cuisine. Tucked away Asian House is over priced food, bad tasting at times, and menu is misleading. Score a 5 outta 10 at best. In case you like to know more: I ordered Miso to start, which seemed overpriced at $6.95 compared to the Wonton and Hot and Sour. It was the only thing flavorful about my meal. Sadly, this small potion was the disappointing start; but the best thing about the whole meal. This combined with the fact; soup or salad is usually included with bento lunch order definitely added to the score. For lunch , I ordered the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Bento; that came with Gyoza and California 4pc. Sushi. In addition, I ordered a Volcano Roll to test out the Sushi Bar. Next came my bento plate; even though the plate presentation was pretty, the fact the tempura was overly greasy pretty much ruined this fried meal. Portions were fair, but not much variety also lowered their score overall. Zucchini, green pepper and onion only, alongside two deep fried sushi tempura shrimp. Frozen typical box gyoza , served with a salty ponzu sauce. Last and sadly least was a salad accompaniment that was literally shredded lettuce ONLY with peanut dressing and an average 4pc. California Roll . Finally, the Volcano Roll came; it was supposed to have warm scallops , shrimp, cheese over the roll. It came with Shrimp Only and a weird flavored sauce; which seemed to be spicy mayo heated with shrimp topping my roll. No scallops? Chef Mic may have gotten his hands on this topping? The filling was off tasting and left a bad flavor in my mouth. I gave it a few trys, then pushed it away to stave away any issues later. Glad, I wasn't adventurous this time.
Although their menu has variety and possibilities with traditional dishes to offer; I'm not sure I'd ever venture a return trip. Pictures from my house experience maybe decieving in this case folks and Pretty doesn't always = tasty.
Keep staying local, and vocal for good eats! See you...
Read moreI will never eat here again!!!I ordered the Gen. Tao's combanationplate (comes with fried rice and 1 egg roll) EXTRA SPICEY $7.95 + tax & House Lo-mein $8.95 + tax (which was supose to have Chicken, shrimp, beef and pork). The Gen Tao's was extra sweet and not very good... waste of moneyHouse Lo-mein had 2 pc of chicken, 1 shrimp, and 2 pc of beef...I was nice when I called and explained the problem to a English speaking lady and told her I was not satisfied. She then said that it was not possible and began telling how it was made, but said that they would replace it for me :) I told them I would come in the next day and get it and her respose was that it would be fine. Great problem solved... WRONG!!!I took the Lo-Mein back as requested (3/4 of it was left, I had to feed my 4yo son) the manager or owner not sure which met me at the counter and at the begining was apologetic, but after coming from the kitchen had an attitude like I had done something wrong... She stated the process of how they make thier house lo-mein and it was not possible ... OMG AGAIN!!! I stated I understand your process, but it is broken... I would like it replaced. She said that they made it last night and would not make it again! OK well i wasted $9.00 I will take the remaining lo-mein back that i brought in... Wrong she thru it in the trash.... W/O raising my voice I politly stated thank you for the inconveniance and for showing me how to waste my money turned around...

...As far as Chinese food is concerned, it offers all the expected dishes as well as some specialties you don't see in other Chinese food establishments. They have a sushi bar, offering a wide variety of comparable to most other places.
For dinner we had several items off their menu - crab rangoons for an appetizer, I had yellowtail sushi, my wife had their egg drop soup, and I went for their Family Four (or something of that title) meal, where my wife enjoyed her standby - the sweet and sour chicken. My meal was full of vegetables, a small lobster half, small scallops, pork, and chicken. Though I enjoyed the sushi and my meal, my wife could not say the same for her's. We weren't impressed with the rangoons, but she did like the egg drop soup and the egg roll that came with her meal. In short, it was a mixed bag of some good and some not, but overall, it was okay.
Service was somewhat functional - meaning, she took our orders, was able to answer a few questions, but lacked the attentiveness you come to expect at places today. Maybe it was the language barrier? Maybe a bad day? In any event, it was evident and hopefully a 'one-off' situation.
We'll be back, maybe try them on a busier night when they're more on their game. That might just be a whole...
