It's 4:15 pm. This happened within the last hour. Aug 3, 2023. Ordered the classic shakes that are $1.99 right now and 1 hot fudge sundae and 1 order of med onion rings. We received medium shakes, 2 chocolate and 1 Reese's, 2 order of onion rings and no sundae. She went back in to talk to her boss and came back saying the $1.99 for shakes was expired. I had already looked it up and $1.99 is good till end of August. Then we were told that the Reese's shake was not a classic shake. I looked up the classic shakes again and she had to go back in and ask her boss. Definitely something is wrong with whomever is the boss, because they didn't check on these issues, if they had we wouldn't have had to send our shakes back and have them exchanged to small and to say the Reese's are not classic, tells me they didn't check. We only ordered 1 onion rings, but after they got our shakes straightened out, didn't bother to try and straighten out the onion rings. Our waitress had to come to our car 4 times and you would hope everything had been corrected, it wasn't, but close enough. I have been customer oriented in my jobs for 40 years and I know what it entails and regardless of the circumstances, these people should not be in charge of this customer oriented business. For those that go to this Sonic, make sure they understand and maybe have them repeat you order and do check your receipt. Our total went to just about $30 to $20. I did leave her a $4.85 tip. The onion rings we liked and the shakes were really good and the one that had the sundae said it was good. I know people not doing their job or just doing halfway, and that should not be allowed. Read more5/12/24 around 1 pm I had an order to pick up so when I got to the store the food should have been ready. Not surprising they didn't have it ready and said it was cooking when I got there. I wait 10 min and ask if I can get an update on how long it will be because I have places to be and the manager said "its currently cooking". When I replied saying i need a time because I am on a time restraint they yelled at me saying that was all they could tell me "is that its cooking" and hung up. I called them again trying to get an estimate on how long I would need to wait on my food and the manager continued to yell at me telling me that i might as well leave cuz I am not going to get my food. Thinking this was an epmloyee this whole time I tried to call them on the phone to speak to the manager to find out the manager was the same person yelling at my through the prompter. The order I was there to pick up was for 4 meals along with shakes and icecream. I was scared for my life and even if i got my food I figured that it would be contanimated in some way so I just left after being there for nearly 25 min and not getting any food. I did not only lose out on a lot of my time and patience but alsoa lot of money as well. I can not believe management would speak and treat anyone like that. Stole my time and money. I also filed a complaint but because its franchised he will likely be the one the complaint is sent to so I do not expect much to change so be careful going there id say the risk isnt...
Read moreI used to work at this sonic. Horrible employment team. Horrible environment. They were grilling burgers on temporary flattop burners for weeks because the grills were broken. Leaks everywhere. Bathrooms never properly functioning. Google sonic health inspections, they haven’t had a clear one in years.
Managers stealing carhop tips while counting wallets was a common issue. Carhops are to get their wallets counted by a manager at end of shift and are instructed to put their cash tips in there as well to be handed back to them after counting. I can’t tell you how many times I was told I made no tips by a manager after a great night of tips. I noticed then that I was being stolen from by multiple supervisors and managers. They also do not legally account for cash tips in shop. I as well as other coworkers began to hold my tips separate from my wallet to assure they wouldn’t be stolen.
As for my most irritating issue… W-2s are legally required to be issued by end of january, I have not received mine yet. Feb 9 2024. As well as I have been calling on repeat everyday of February so far. I can imagine they are letting the phone ring to end just as they did, and instructed all employees to do, while I was employed. I hate making complaints like this… however with tax season coming up, I cannot, and will not let this go on any longer. I will raise as much fire as I need to reprimand this company for the way they treat their employees. Do better sonic....
