12/09/2016 Update:
It's been a couple of weeks since I was here last. I am pleased to have met Rebecca, an employee, who was cleaning the Playland. Rebecca was gracious and friendly, and pointed out how I could be rewarded with a free dessert for completing a survey and commenting on her service. I'm not sure if the franchisee, the management, or a corporate representative took note of my last review - either way, I am encouraged by my follow up visit.
Further updates as warranted. :-)
ORIGINAL POST:
Arrived with 2 kids at 10:30 am on a Sunday. Having forgotten that chicken McNugget kids meals are not available until 11:00 am on Sunday, the kids went to the Playland. The not-so-stellar review is mostly about the condition of the Playland area.
Let's begin with the well known fact that kids are messy germ-laden creatures. McDonald's understands this which is why they provide a station where one SHOULD find sanitizing hand wipes. Alas, the container was empty. The gentleman at the front counter relayed they were out of said wipes. Of all the days to forget my own sanitizer gel!
Next, if you've ever been to an indoor playground you will recognize the familiar musty smell. This is why the good restaurants designate a crew to clean and sanitize daily. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case at this location.
Getting back to the reason I mentioned having to wait for the menu to switch over to lunch before my son could have chicken nuggets. There was a half eaten chicken nugget clearly visible under one of the tables - evidence that it was not left there today since chicken nuggets were not yet on the menu. Under another table were several French fries, an unopened Gogurt tube and a pair of children's ankle socks. Looking around one could see receipts and other food debris on the floor. Clearly the entire play area had been neglected by the closing crew, nor did the opening crew bother to inspect the restaurant.
Kids will be kids and my kid spilled his full Sprite on the table which flowed onto the floor. I promptly alerted management who said they'd send someone in to clean it before someone stepped in it or slipped. After about 15 minutes had passed and other kids were beginning to file in I returned to the counter to remind management. The second notice proved successful and a crew member was dispatched to clean and mop.
I can only speculate when the playground equipment was last sanitized, and I would speculate never.
My advice, bring your own hand sanitizer and definitely make your kids wear socks (it is required by the posted sign but not enforced, of course).
Lastly, the state I moved to Titusville. Florida from mandated regular cleaning and sanitizing which was enforced by health department inspectors.
To the company and franchisees:. Playlands, and the like, are good for kids and parents. I will drive past many other restaurants for the fun that my kids have. But please take the responsibility for the health and well-being of your customers seriously. Do that and you will get my money time...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars, I would. This is regarding the McDonald’s #10124 in Titusville, FL when visited May 23, 2019.
I originally reviewed this restaurant in March 2017. I do not live there but take the grandkids there when visiting them (they live there). Luckily, there is another McDonald’s in Titusville so that when the grandkids “need” a Happy Meal we can go there instead of this one.
The last time we were there was May 23, 2019. The PlayPlace was filthy and there were no sanitizer wipes in the dispenser. We asked someone for some so we could wipe a table down and instead of filling the dispenser, they wiped the table with a dirty, nasty rag - no sanitizing. Even though disgusting, I could have overlooked it. But with what followed I find it noteworthy to report.
I placed our order. Soon after, THREE younger female employees came into the play area urgently looking for me. I had ordered my coffee drink without milk. The THREE girls (yes, three) came to make sure I wanted my coffee this way. I replied that I did (I would rather have cream than milk). The THREE of them were very "concerned" that I wanted my coffee that way and they reiterated they just wanted to be sure. I thought this was quite strange. Later, when one of those same girls delivered the order to us in the playroom, she sat my coffee down and giggled, then left.
As it turns out, the coffee cup was only about 1/3 of the way full of coffee and 2/3 full of ice. I thought this was some sort of joke. When I took the cup to the front counter to ask about it the little "team" was ready. They had known the whole time that when they delivered a 1/3 full cup of coffee that I would come to the counter. Without using the word "stupid", they explained (laughing it up the whole time) that without milk the coffee drink would be that small amount and gave me the impression that they thought I should have known that. With ALL THEIR CONCERN earlier, you would think they might have mentioned that when they repeatedly asked if I was "sure" I didn't want the milk. They PLANNED this little episode for their own demented "fun" and "entertainment" to see how a customer would react.
When I returned to our table and told my daughter about their attitude and their laughs at my expense, she decided to make her own complaint. She spoke with the manager (same one I spoke to) and told her that I said they were all laughing when I returned the coffee. The manager laughed at her and said that was not true and that we were lying.
It has taken me two and a half months to write this review because, believe it or not, there have been more important and pressing life issues to deal with besides a smart aleck manager and her crew. I did reach out to McDonald’s on Twitter at the time and McDonald’s never responded.
Let’s review the security footage and see who is lying… Actually, don’t bother –...
Read moreI made a DoorDash order but unfortunately the McDonald’s I usually order from wasn’t available so I had to order from this one. I ordered a quarter pounder meal and a 4 piece nugget. when I started to eat my burger I was biting into chunks of what looked like pieces of charcoal which were actually burnt pieces of burger from what I believe was (i work with food myself) the grease trap of the flat top. I proceeded to eat avoiding the chunks because I had just got off work and paid for the food. I then fell asleep because it was about 2 am at the point of me finishing my food. I then woke up out my sleep not even 3 hours later throwing up all over my floor. When I called this morning the first thing that was said by the manager after telling what happened was “you think it was the burger that got you sick?” And I said “yes ma’am I haven’t eaten anything else my whole day” I then didn’t know what to do so I let her know I don’t want any free food (being they just got me sick) and I was then asked what I want her to do about it in a condescending way to which I then replied “check your employees at that time, go over the camera’s, have a talk with all your employees… I just don’t want anyone else getting sick………” in the end I was never made to feel there was gonna be any initiative to take care of the problem and instead I was made to come up with solutions to a problem this McDonald’s has caused. I feel like all the things I suggested are things a manager should already do when receiving a call like this and in the end i came off of the phone call feeling like nothing would be done about it which is the only reason why I'm writing a review. If I was any older and ate the whole burger I feel it would have killed me. Everyone who thinks of going to this McDonald’s it might be more of a drive but I will never go here again and stick to the McDonald’s on garden street, food is always good, never...
