I'm new to Indian food, but as far as I'm concerned this is the best first experience I could have had.
Inside and outside, the restaurant presents a cool, clean, classic-meets-chic decorum. The outside seating provides a lovely, line-art-style backdrop for social media photos and foodie blogs alike. Within, the summer-y color palette and earthy tones set the mood for an authentic dining experience to come.
I happily found that the menus contained numerous images to help guide the dining decision-making process, and my waitresses went above and beyond to ensure my friends and I had an excellent experience. Frequent check-in's, inquiries about further menus and foods, and even an offer to take a commemorative photo made us all feel comfortable and eager to return for seconds.
The hardest part of eating at Indian Sizzler might be deciding exactly WHAT to order, as everything looks so mouth-wateringly delectable. While I relished each appetizer and dish sampled, my favorite menu items were:
Paneer Naan - Soft, bready dough, baked light brown and filled with creamy, homemade cheese. Absolutely impossible to eat only one.
Vegetable Samosa - Classic Indian street food! These crescent-shaped patties come piping hot, stuffed with fluffy potatoes and crispy green peas, and dashed generously with Indian Spices. Best of all: They aren't spicy, making them a great appetizer for more sensitive palates.
Vegetable Biriyani - Served in a pot with soft bread baked overtop like a doughy lid (perfect for tearing and dipping at leisure), this dish is an inspired mixture of aromatic Basmati Rice, soft vegetable medley, cooked cashews, spices (turmeric seemed present), and mint for a cool, fresh finish.
Gulab Jamun - An absolute show-stopper, these deep-fried cheeseballs are the perfect finish to a savory meal. Bathed in a silky veil of sugary syrup, they taste almost like cream cheese doughnut holes getting the maple pancake treatment. Don't leave without ordering them (take them home in a box if you must!).
Generous portions and shareable appetizers means you'll likely be asking for a take-home box before you leave. I left the restaurant full, satisfied, and with my taste buds' horizons expanded. The spice-oriented dishes left my palate feeling cleansed and refreshed, and I was already looking forward to digging into my leftovers during my...
Read moreJust to preface this, I had no digestive distress before this meal. My wife and I had decided to celebrate our Anniversary by going to the Indian Sizzler and we had been once before shortly after they opened and had a good experience. We started out by having to wait about 10 minutes to get our drink order and by the time the waiter arrived we just decided to place our whole order. We goth the Chicken 65, Sesame Chicken and a few other items to share. I got the Chicken Tikka and my wife got the Butter Chicken. Most everything had a little more bland flavor than the first time we were in there but still not bad. The issuse did not happen in the restaurant but on the way home when the first rumblings started. I thought maybe it is just some flatulence but I was sorely mistaken. I was going to surprise my wife with her favorite Ice cream place on the way home and we arrived to that establishment when the serious movement occurred. The line was too long and the facilities were occupied. My worst fear was about to become a reality when at 37 I would mess my pants like my 2 year old. I told my wife we would have to get ice cream another time and we would have to make a bee line home just a couple miles away. I was unable to sit completely as I was clinching so hard I got muscle spasms and could feel my britches filling. We got to the driveway and as soon as we got out of the car and I stood up I lost all control of my bodily functions and kicked my shoes off right there in the driveway to avoid getting them dirty. The only non covered clothing item was my right sock simply because it only funneled to the other side. The word “explosive” comes to mind to describe it. Needless to say I think I’m done with the Indian Sizzler for the...
Read moreIt has been a while since I have written a review. But, this dining experience needed to be shared. This place earns 5 stars in every way. Walking in, it was quick to see how organized and efficient the Sizzler team is. We were seated right away even though they were very busy. What sparked this review was after sitting, the hostess, fine-tuned the corners of the table cloth. Looking around, I could see other staff quickly change table cloths when guests left their table. They really kept the atmosphere, clean, organized, and pleasant. Truly remarkable. I know, what about the food, value, and service. Looking at the menu, there is a complete offering of Indian cuisine. The average main course was $14, with appetizers starting at $6. It was a great value for the amount of food they provide. Each dish was full of flavor, with a perfect amount of heat. To get a complete reference, we ordered 3 appetizers, 3 main courses, 2 bread selections, and 2 deserts. 4 of the items had the "red pepper" symbol indicating it was a spicy dish. They did have a nice kick if heat, but in no way, did the distract from the flavor profile. I did not ask, but I am sure they would be happy to kick things up if requested. I would try it first, then request a side of spiced sauce if needed. Everything. for us was perfect though. The service follows as expected from our first impression. Simply friendly, pleasant, fast, and nothing short of spectacular. From me to the Sizzler team and family, Very impressive in every way! We will be back,...
