I grew up across the river from Tiverton...I have gotten back there almost every summer for the past 30 years, and I get to the other side of the Sakonnet every year. I don't know when the Moose Cafe started its tenure, but I am glad that it did. You take the old Harbor Mall exit off of 24 to Stafford Rd and you can't miss it. This past weekend I spontaneously needed a place that could accommodate parents, sisters, nieces and cousins for a casual lunch, and the Moose Cafe was recommended. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Saturday, and the crowd was minimal but steady for the duration of our visit. The atmosphere was inviting and warm. There was plenty of space to service my small party of seven. The counter service was friendly and attentive. The food portions were decent and tasted fine. Nothing was bad, but almost nothing stood out as a destination meal event. Totally enjoyable experience, and not too expensive. I even got a stuffed quahog when the main competitors had closed for the season. Quahog was good, and definitely not what I am used to. However, I will definitely be visiting again next time I am home in the summer...the ice cream/sundae/frappe menu is probably one of the most extensive that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I had to order plain Jane scoops for my dad and nieces, but they enjoyed them. The ice cream cone/cup menu is pretty astonishing, and I almost can't believe that they have that many individual flavors. I have to assume that they give Gray's a run for their money. Read moreI went to the Moose Café and brought a friend from out of state. We went to the drive-through thinking it would be easy and convenient. Well it turns out it was neither of those I ordered the painkiller and my friend ordered the fruit explosion. I informed them that my friend had a minor sensitivity to pineapple as most food establishments tell you to inform them of any allergies well then they continue to inform us that they can no longer make either of the smoothies because of the minor sensitivity to pineapple as there would be cross-contamination, but cross-contamination should not be a problem if you have an extra blender or if you clean out the blenders, we said we were OK with a little bit of cross-contamination and they still refuse to make a smoothie that didn’t have the pineapple in it. Mind you. then they said they could make the one with the pineapple in it we agreed, and we pulled up. They asked for money didn’t interact with us. Didn’t continue to explain their policy. None of the above the girl who gave us. Our smoothie was completely rude and just walked away when we wanted to ask a question so instead of saying, it’s our policy you could just say that you’re lazy or you do not meet health codes. if you’re looking for good customer service, fast, easy and quick drive-through Place to bring a friend the Moose café is not it despite their selection of ice cream, their customer service is subpar. Read moreApril 26th @6:30pm Today I was very disappointed with the service i received from the two girls at the window. I ordered a regular size hard serve cake batter in a cup with rainbow sprinkles. Super simple. They gave me chocolate sprinkles. So I went back in line at the drive thru and I apologized and said, “I am so sorry but I asked for rainbow sprinkles,” you could tell she was already annoyed. Didn’t apologize at all, and said “Oh I can give you the rainbow sprinkles on the side.” Like huh??? I don’t want the chocolate sprinkles on my ice cream!!! Use your brain! I just said I didn’t want that. Why am I paying $6 for something I don’t even want??? So I asked her to remake it. And she paused, again, didn’t say sorry AT ALL and said, “drive up.” I drive up and apologized again and they didn’t even say sorry and rolled their eyes as if I was the inconvenience and gave me even less ice cream LOL. It’s an inconvenience that I now have to drive back in line at the drive thru, wait ten mins for other people to get their order. Didn’t get an apology. Nothing. Like you’re literally standing in one spot, making ice cream for four hours. Literally grow up. I shouldn’t be the one apologizing!!! I hope they get fired for their nasty attitude and poor customer service. Shame on you! You wont make it in the real world...
