After driving a couple hours from New Jersey by 10am I was ready for a good breakfast. In the Mt Pocono area the choices are somewhat limited if you don't want fast food. A quick Google map search and Moyer's popped up and I am happy it did. It's a smallish cafe in a strip center and if crowds are an indicator this is it. One thing about being solo is while a party of 5 may have a short wait a single usually gets seated kind of quickly and I did. The menu has all the usual breakfast items like eggs, omelets, french toast etc. The one thing on the menu you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere is German style pancakes. I ordered an omelet with home fried potatoes. The server said that I should try the German pancakes so I did. The omelet and potatoes were cooked perfectly. The pancakes were a delight. The flavor is somewhat akin to a funnel cake. Kind of sweet with a fluffy texture. I ordered mine served with powdered sugar and were delicious like everything else I ordered. There are also various fruit toppings available. The service was super friendly and efficient. I never felt rushed or like I was waiting too long. The dollar value for my meal was exactly as I thought it should be. Not cheap but a good deal for high quality food. If you are in the area and hungry this is a great spot for meal. Check out the food picture and you'll get why I enjoyed Moyer's.

Nestled in the heart of Poconos Lake, this cozy breakfast joint serves hearty meals in a charming, rustic setting. It’s known for its German pancakes (which I didn’t even know were a thing!), and of course, that’s exactly what we tried—along with their loaded home fries. The German pancakes were easily a 5/5. I had never tried them before, but wow, they were delightful. We had them with cinnamon vanilla and raspberry sauces, both of which were sooo good. I leaned more toward the cinnamon vanilla, but even combining the two on the pancakes really hit the spot! The portions here are generous, and the loaded potatoes were also fantastic! The staff was a sweet, older woman who was very friendly and helped us navigate the menu. She even gave us an extra sauce to try, which was so kind. I’d happily visit Moyers again if I’m ever in the area—their German pancakes are truly one of a kind!🥞

Our host suggested Moyer's for their famous German pancakes, and we were thrilled with the food! The German pancakes with vanilla cinnamon syrup and the homefries were the highlights, along with the other breakfast items we ordered. We love discovering local gems like Moyer's. Unfortunately, our welcome was less than ideal. We waited patiently at the 'Please wait to be seated' sign, but the older waitress repeatedly passed us without a word. When she finally addressed us, it was dismissive, and she then kicked a dropped knife into the kitchen, a serious hygiene concern. Thankfully, Tricia, our actual server, was a complete contrast. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made our meal enjoyable. Her exceptional service saved the experience. Tricia, thank you!

Used to be good! We went regularly pre and post covid. Took 20 minutes in a tiny room to be acknowledged by kathy while kelly, the other waitress breezed through her tables and more. Then 45 minutes for the food to arrive without a chirp from Kathy.

That's an hour and 5 minutes to get food folks... In all fairness, the wait staff has been great... Kelly, (and Dominique in the past are excellent, so if you go make sure you get them)

I asked for diet soda and was brought a glass of ice, with THE CAN NESTLED IN THE ICE, touching the ice. She only brought the soda over, this was not necessary at all, and unsanitary.

Gross, who does that??

I didn't/ couldn't use the ice, I have no idea where that can was prior. I would have let her know but she had no time for me. I asked for butter and when there were only 2 pats for both of us, when I asked for butter after it got slammed on the table so hard some butter flew off and landed on the table. not a word. No food check back. The hashbrowns were cold, he asked for them well done.

His looked like mine, mine were raw. Kathy definitely wrote well done on the check, but ran them out barely cooked.

His (western) omelette was overcooked and greasy, dark.

My waffle was room temp. I order a waffle for it's warm fluffy goodness. This was neither. As asked, it had no sugar on it, she got that right for sure.

But no check back. Not at all.

Neither of us were ok with our food.

You can't fix what goes wrong if you don't care enough to find out.

We ate it anyway because I couldn't wait another hour to go elsewhere. She did not come back until it was time for the bill. Then and only then did she act warm and smile.

I paid her at the register, wary of the idea of her asking about the meal.....at that point I was just mad, so I didn't want my day ANY worse. WHAT WAS I CONCERNED FOR? She didn't BOTHER TO ask anyway!!

Honestly, this is a no Brainer.

We watched the other tables get great service...while our waitress pivoted around with coffee and not to our table.

When we left I told the other waitress that from now on we will wait for her.

I will go back and be super polite as always but will insist to wait behind any other party just to get a different waitress.

Moyers screwed up the food, but that could've easily been fixed.

If anyone...

We Found a Hidden Gem in the Pocono Mts!! Don't let the street view fool you, this place is great! Stopped in on our way back to reality after a week at the lake. Kept reading about the German pancakes in the reviews and could not wait to see what all of the hub-bub was about. I ordered the Golfer special which came with a small stack of German pancakes. Everything on my platter was cooked perfectly. Eggs "dippy" as we say, were perfect! Bacon cooked perfectly with just the right measure between crisp & not (we call it flubber-crisp in our family :) The home fried potatoes were very tasty, slightly crispy on the outside and cooked thoroughly. And then there were the glorious German pancakes! So simple yet so delicious. I had the cinnamon vanilla & my daughter ordered the raspberry, we honestly could not decide which we liked better. Then we dipped our pancakes into both toppings together and it was like heaven...angels were singing & everything! Ok, I am being over dramatic, but honestly this little place is just wonderful. Our server was great, very attentive and friendly, and all of the other staff seemed to be just the same. Place is small & clean. I actually thought it looked like an old motel when we drove past, must have been converted into small businesses. We were so glad that we made the choice to go to Moyers, and will def visit again when we are...
