I don't feel safe eating inside restaurants during our current pandemic. They told us we could order margaritas to-go as well, but would need to see our IDs. I haven't had to show my ID to buy alcohol in at least a decade, but ok. The server insisted on holding my ID, then got really close to my face with it and demanded that I pull my mask down so she could confirm my identity. I took a step back and told her I wasn't comfortable with that, and she got even closer and again insisted that I pull my mask down. I grabbed my ID away from her and canceled the order for the margarita. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with showing my ID, but if my blond hair/blue eyes aren't enough to confirm my identity, not to mention my crows feet being confirmation of my age, you're overdoing it. It's a small town restaurant, nothing fancy, but the service has always been good, the staff has always been warm and welcoming, and they tend to remember the people who come in. They even took notice when my grandma came without my grandpa and asked about him. And now when she comes in she is greeted with the sweetest smiles and condolences. Most of the time the service is fast, and when it hadn't been the fastest service ever (they are small and were very busy for a normal night) the staff was still very courteous and the food was worth it.
