Update 8/30/2025: Something has changed. Firstly they no longer serve brewed iced tea anymore. When i tried to order the peach mint tea which was amazing when I had it before the girl said they only had spiced peach. When I asked what other iced tea there were she listed off a bunch of hot tea flavors, which i didnt want. So opted for a decaf caramel macchioto, unfortunately there was no vanilla syrup in it and it was not the best. They used to have tons of different pastries, but hardly had any today. Bought a Dubai chocolate bar, got home and it was a super small bar of only 4 little pieces in a huge oversized box. Deceiving for $10. May try again another day.

Original review: This place was amazing today. There were some noticeable changes that were really good since we were here last. The first thing you see when you walk in is an amazing display of desserts, sandwiches, cookies, cakes, etc. We were looking at the display, deciding what to try, and one of the owners behind the counter told us about two new cakes and if we wanted a sample. One was a coconut cake and another was a multilayer cake with honey. They were both amazing, but we choose the blueberry muffin and loaf. The coffee was perfect and the owner even made me a custom peach black iced tea with fresh mint leaves. I did get a chocolate croissant, lemon cake and cookie to go. Ate them at home and overall everything was amazing! Love the new changes, friendly staff, and quaint sitting area and we will definitely be back! Oh ya we got a kick out of all the people going thru the drive thru with their dogs and seeing the dogs eating their pup cups....

This neighborhood gem opened up its 2nd location right by me in summer of 2020 & I've been back at least once a week (as well as visited its 1st location) ever since due to its amazing vibe, eats, drinks, & staff! Everything I write here applies to both locations.

This is the independent coffee shop I've been looking for since my college days - a place where you can chill, hang, work, & study. The shop also collaborates with the community to host events, which many have enjoyed.

The staff is warm & gets to know you, especially if you're a regular. All their food & drinks are made & brewed with love, & at the point of writing this I've officially tried everything on their food menu & am making my way through their drinks.

I've steered people here who are Starbucks addicts & after their first trip, they're now passing up several Starbucks to drive out of their way to get Barbarossa's stuff! See for yourself what quality tastes like!

For the most bang for your buck when it comes to the food, I highly recommend the Breakfast Bowl & Croque Madame. Both are filling & nourishing, & my picky eater teen actually enjoyed the simple side salad that came with the latter.

For desserts, I recommend whatever is in the tall fridge on the counter (those are made in-house), ESPECIALLY the bread pudding. definitely a life changer to everyone I've recommended it to. If you're a fan of both cheesecake & flan, definitely try the San Sebastian Cheesecake!

I hope that by leaving this review that Barbarossa Coffee & the family that runs it gets the attention it needs to thrive & be here for many...

Wow!! I mean, WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!

I was a Starbucks barista almost 20 years ago - back when we were taught to care about properly crafting the drinks we served, and providing excellent customer service. And most especially, we were taught to appreciate coffee - how it’s made, the different roasts, the different brewing methods, the perfect pour, how to taste it and what to pair with it, etc. I don’t think they teach that there anymore, but I truly enjoyed it and was passionate about my craft back then.

Well, Barbarossa took me back to that!! No I’m not comparing it to modern-day starsucks - gross. No - what I’m saying is that all the great things I loved about that time in my life came flooding back to me with my first sip of the Valhalla latte I ordered the other day. Instantly.

And it wasn’t just the drink - everything was perfect, the vibe, the coffee selection, the food options, obviously the drink, but also the baristas - their passion seemed palpable! You could just absolutely see that they loved what they were doing. Patrick was fantastic, helpful, and patient as I made my decision on what to get. That said, I can’t wait try some other options from there.

I truly hope this place grows, and quickly at that, but I pray it never loses its soul - passionate people making stellar coffee!

I can’t remember the last time I got sad finishing a cup of coffee, but that definitely happened this time the closer I got to the end of it. Just another testament to how good it was.

I’m a fan for life now....

$20 and 57 mins later… I’m a big fan of Barbarossa, but I’m extremely disappointed with how my coffee order was delivered through Uber Eats. There was no secure cover on the lid, my iced coffee was wide open when it arrived. When the driver handed it to me, his thumb was on the mouthpiece. When I called the store, the employee told me they had run out of secure tops. That’s a serious food safety issue. If proper packaging isn’t available, Barbarossa should temporarily disable delivery through Uber Eats. Sending out uncovered drinks is unacceptable and puts customers at risk. I expected better. Editing my review due to the business reply, I assume I was not clear enough… I waited 57 minutes for my order from Barbarossa via Uber Eats, only to be severely disappointed by the delivery. My iced coffee arrived without a secure lid or any protective seal; the lid was completely unsecured. When I called the store, the female employee informed me they had run out of lids but made no mention of using tape or any alternative sealing method. This lack of proper packaging is a significant food safety concern. If secure lids are unavailable, Barbarossa should suspend Uber Eats deliveries until they can guarantee customer safety. Sending out uncovered drinks is unacceptable and exposes customers to potential contamination. I expected better from a place I’ve always considered a favorite.
