Located on the ocean side of the 101 FWY, if you are speeding through and blink you might miss this gem of a place.
Situated in a prime location just steps away from the pristine shores of Padaro Beach, this restaurant effortlessly combines breathtaking views with exceptional cuisine.
From the moment I stepped in, the welcoming ambiance and beachy decor set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The outdoor seating area, adorned with cozy beach chairs and fire pits, provided the perfect setting to soak in the coastal breeze while enjoying a delectable meal.
Speaking of the food, Padaro Beach Grill truly exceeded my expectations. The menu showcases a diverse range of dishes, all of which are crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The seafood options were particularly outstanding – the succulent grilled shrimp and the buttery lobster tail were nothing short of perfection. For those seeking non-seafood options, the menu offers a variety of choices, from hearty salads to mouthwatering burgers, ensuring there's something for every palate.
Of course, what truly sets Padaro Beach Grill apart is its unbeatable location. The stunning ocean views coupled with the sound of crashing waves create an unparalleled backdrop for a memorable meal. Whether you're visiting for a romantic dinner, a family outing, or simply a leisurely lunch, the ambiance alone is worth the visit.

Read moreThis eatery is a casual laid back beach burger stand near Padaro Beach (aka Santa Claus Beach as the locals call it). The staff is great. They answered all my inane questions about the menu, all with a terrific attitude. I had the prime burger (minus the mayo and caramelized onion) , it was fantastic. So much so, I had a d'oh moment and forgot to take a photo. Zoning out enjoying the burger, view and vibes.
The grill is a walk up stand that serves burgers ( including turkey and black bean burger), sandwiches, salads, fish n chips, fish and shrimp tacos, nachos, quesadilla, calamari, fries (two types), tots, onion rings, milkshakes, smoothies, soft serve cone, ice cream sandwiches and MARGARITAS. It's 5 o lock somewhere! And they have a kids menu. Lots of menu options.
The seating is all outdoor though. The yard is landscaped giving it a tropical feel with big shade trees. But the weather is so nice and mild in the town of Carpenteria, seating outdoors in the summer is quite manageable. The ocean can be seen from the back patio. Gorgeous! But the beach is a bit harder to see and can't be accessed from the grill. Actually the public beach access is a further distance down the road from here; it's a walkable distance. Parking for this place can fill up and street parking is your other option.
The place is geared to be family friendly and expected for the kiddos to run amok and have fun. If that ain't your thing, you can take...
Read moreNiece treated us to lunch here before our shopping trip in Carpenteria. We found a place to park on the side of the road, across from the restaurant. We were lucky to see someone pull out as we were driving back to the main road to look for another restaurant. Parking here can be a challenge!
This is a popular place as the line for food was as long as the line for the two single person bathrooms. While Husband & Niece ordered food, I used one of the unisex bathrooms. My only complaint was a lack of towels. The young woman at the take out side gave me napkins to dry my hands. But what about others after me? And employees?
The food was freshly prepared so we waited a bit for our pager to go off at our table by the hedges blocking the view of the ocean. We enjoyed people watching as we sipped on our margaritas on this beautiful Kwanza day, 12/26/22. Niece had a regular margarita and I had the mango variety. Nice!
All of the food was delicious. The past reviews were spot on! My clam chowder was excellent. I saved the oyster crackers for later & I ate part of the hot buttered bread. Husband loved his burger, and perfectly made crunchy onion wings. Niece had the tri tips, and could not finish it all. It was huge! She let me nibble on the fresh avocado, cheese fries and tri tips.
We would come back for the food and drinks. If we can’t find parking, though,...
