Pizza express — Restaurant in Torrington

I must have driven past this place 200 times never even noticed it after living in Torrington for 3 years at the bottom of the hill in East Main Street off on Prospect Street This place is located on East Main pretty much adjacent to Jimmy's and whatever is in between like that same building across the street from the newer Cumberland Farms up there on top on your way to Walmart I ordered a margarita pizza well done and I called the owner after eating two slices cuz it was blissful I mean it's Italian through and through take it from an Italian take it from an Italian who's never been to Italy but lived in New York and I understand you know you get pizza places that are in the same plaza pizza by the slice pizza places you can throw a rock at basically in New York and I figure it's an Ellis Island thing where you know back in the day I'm being facetious here but think about it like okay we just came all the way here and say a sardine packer Let's hit the Oregon Trail and go to the West Coast you get what I'm saying So that's why I think the pizza the radius is out like that Now my go-to was a specific restaurant which I won't mention by name and Thomaston and I will get my slices there Pay about the same price for a few good slices and and maybe you know the dollar or two for gas It's been a go to a mine for ages Well they just turn me They turned me to the point where I'll probably be back tomorrow cuz I'm always up in that area because I don't like the fact that I live down where I live at and I like to get away with the weather being cooler I got my iPad and things that keep me busy and I like to hang out at the top of the hill but you know I shop I do a little hanging out and parking lots and watch my DirecTV on my iPad or play some games but I'm not a loiter or anything like that I'm 42 I just don't care for the crowd at the bottom of the hill in Torrington and I mean I'll just be Frank I'm on disability I have a pacemaker I have no choice for to live at the YMCA Fortunately I have an out so it still feels like I'm in an apartment like back in the days when I used to work but that's what I do Everyday sometime midday or around sunset I go out for who knows how long depending on what time I go out and generally I'll stop at a specific fast food restaurant up top there and spend the same amount of money really but I called them right back I said I took a few pictures just to add to your photos I'm going to leave you a nice review but now I called and I immediately Yeah they probably thought oh boy because you know people order well done or whatever and maybe they think I'm going to send it back No it was perfectly I mean there's a lot of variables I used to work in a pizza restaurant It comes down to the dough recipe it comes down to how the dough's mixed how it's tucked and how it's stored It comes down to the ovens that are in use it comes down to the talent of the pizza chef and he's Italian I don't know for sure what I'm going to guess Sicilian I'm Sicilian I could be wrong All I know is best margarita pizza of my life I mean and a margarita pizza you know by nature is white It doesn't usually taste white but man and I'm going to say this right now I heard a medium the price was fair Extremely fair When I stepped outside walking to my vehicle with the box I could smell the basil I just had to have a couple slices right there from the passenger seat just put it down and that's when I called I was in their parking lot When I called I actually had the taste it before I left It was amazing They certainly don't skimp on the cheese It's high quality You get that nice greasy cheese that comes out I mean that crust ask for it well done if you like a little crisp because it's just like it's perfect like I don't really like floppy pizza but it has a little flop to it but that's not a bad thing it's cuz of the way the cheese is the crust is crispy it is airy it is everything you would want in a pizza In every way.
