Our Barnyard and Carriage House wedding was magical. Anna was sooo amazing to work with. She was nice and attentive during the whole planning process and the night of the wedding she was simply amazing! The days leading up to the wedding she called and kept in touch so many times to make sure everything was perfect. She was there the whole time, coordinated the whole night to be flawless and when a few proverbial fires came up (the shuttle to our hotel didnât show!) she took care of everything. She even made sure that I (the busy bride) had a glass of wine when I couldnât get to the bar myself, which was so sweet of her to notice. This venue is really, really beautiful, the inside is so pretty with exposed beams and rustic lighting and chandeliers. There are beautifully landscaped grounds including a gazebo and fountain that were fun for guests and made such a perfect backdrops for pictures. It looks and feels so much more special than so many of the gaudy Jersey âwedding factoriesâ we visited and it was really nice to be the only event on-site that night. The food was AMAZING and got rave reviews from everybody (including a CIA graduate chef!). My friends, family and coworkers still talk about the food and as the highest compliment my coworkers are dying to hold our next even there so that they can impress our supporters with the delicious food and amazing atmosphere. I canât recommend the Barnyard and Carriage House more highly, everything was perfect and I will always love the staff and the venue for making the day incredibly special. Canât wait to celebrate anniversaries at the attached...
Read moreThis place is not suited for small children. My 5 year old autistic son was mistreated by the OWNER of this place at their âEaster eventâ that was supposed to be especially for children. My son being a neurodivergent child is attracted to elevators, he saw someone coming out of the building and immediately noticed an elevator inside so he followed his instincts and run inside straight for the elevator. The owner followed him and screamed at him in a disgusted manner, said that âhe DIDNT CARE that my son was special needs, that he just needed to get out of there immediately â he yelled and yelled and screamed until my Speech Therapist (who was with him at the time), tried to calm him down explaining the situation and that she just needed a few minutes to talk to my son and explain so she can get him out. The man had no will to talk nor listen, no patience, no kindness of any sort to understand the situation. The only way he knew was to scream and insult my autistic son and my speech therapist. He told them to leave the event if they didnât like it. He was screaming so loudly that even other patrons noticed him being angry and out of place, and he was scaring my son even more. Even the manager had to come apologize for his unacceptable behaviour. I canât believe people like this exist. Iâm disgusted. If you are a mother you can understand and especially if you have children with special needs. Donât put your money on this place. The disrespect was to another level. Definitely not a place to host events for children. Or not a person that should be in...
Read moreI'm new to the area and found this location in the local newspaper. It's located in an area that you truly would never think a restaurant would be which made it even more interesting to try.
The atmosphere is family friendly and great for groups as well as date dining. It's a pub style atmosphere with a bit of a cozy log cabin feel. Separate bar area from the dining room. They also have a catering hall for parties and functions.
I started my meal off with the Coconut Shrimp with orange marmalade which was absolutely delicious! A definite highlight to my dinner. The portion was 8 large shrimps. As my entree I had the Sliced New York Strip Steak over garlic toast served with fries and mixed vegetables that consisted of carrots, zucchini and string beans. Adequate portion size and cooked to my liking. Delicious. My guest had the meat loaf which was all meat loaf. No fillers of bread and made with brown gravy. Very tasty. My other guest had the zucchini sticks which were a great starter and large portion size. Chicken Francese which was made with too much lemon and not enough butter. It was with so much lemon that it made you pucker. Not a choice of ours at all.
Service was pretty bad. Long waits and things were delivered to the wrong person several times. Friendly but long waits in between the meal and at the initial sit down.
Other than the service and Chicken Francese, I would definitely recommend and return. Highly recommend the...
