Who doesn’t love chocolate? It wasn’t until 1502 that the Europeans embraced the goodness of this yummy treat, when Columbus, on his fourth voyage to the Americas, seized a canoe filled with cocoa beans and brought them to Europe. It was bitter and did not catch on. People couldn’t understand why the South American natives loved the stuff. It took about a hundred years until a group of friars added honey to the bitter liquid, making it sweeter and much tastier. With several locations in northern New Jersey, we went to Totowa right off on Union Blvd. Thanks to my partner’s sister’s recommendation, we arrived at Chocolate House as first-timers to satisfy our sweet tooth. My partner and I were greeted by the staff upon entering this clean and bright interior, who handed us a menu. It featured crĆŖpes, waffles, cheesecakes, pancakes, shakes, and sundaes. We decided on the Strawberry, Banana, and Nutella CrĆŖpe and Brownie Fudge Waffle. The food was exceptional, far superior to any other place we’ve tried in a long time. The attention to detail in presentation and taste elevates the experience. Seating is limited on a few tables. Price was reasonable, and the service was friendly and quick. We enjoyed our experience and can recommend this place.

Cute Spot and bring your sweet tooth. Definitely a sugar rush waiting to happen. Waffle was soft and red velvet cake was good. Strawberries FRESH. Place was busy the whole time I was there.

First time coming here and the crepe and coffee were delicious! The space is very bright and pretty too! The service on the other hand… not as nice. The girl taking my boyfriend’s and my order seemed very annoyed and made us feel kinda unwelcomed. Not only that she basically was rushing to go back onto her phone, completely ignoring the fact that my boyfriend ordered a milkshake so we sat there for 10 minutes with our friends and I having their orders and coffees already. The only reason why she finally decided to make the milkshake, after multiple times looking at us and giving us looks while on her phone, is because her coworker reminded her we had ordered a milkshake. I would love to come back but this experience kinda ruins it.

I am a huge fan of the chocolate house. I have ordered from them many times. Last night I ordered the Dubai strawberries and every time I’ve got them it has been with the milk chocolate, which comes very soft and melt it into the strawberries. Last night it was hard as a rock. You couldn’t even break into it. I called them to express my disappointment and they didn’t even wanna hear it. I called the store and a girl told me well it can hardened but has never happened in the past and I do not live far. Also did not make sense because had another item in my order and the chocolate was soft. The cup of strawberry is not a cheap item and I couldn’t even pick up the strawberry with a fork. I had to put the plastic cup to get the strawberries out but it was still hard so it was not enjoyable. Waste of money. The girl on the phone was not trying to hear my complaint and was saying she couldn’t do anything because that is how it is. Very disappointing experience and for someone in customer service to...

Amazing customer service!! I order from here all the time on Uber Eats, the desserts are always so good and look just like the pictures every time!

I have a peanut allergy, and usually steer clear of any peanut items. My go-to is the M&M milkshake. Simple but so good, and they're never cheap with the M&Ms either lol. I did have a minor issue with my most recent order, as there were small fragments of peanuts and bits of peanut M&Ms at the bottom of my shake. I did not clarify my allergy to begin with, so that's on me, but I know it's usually not included in that milkshake. I reached out via email and received such a quick and nice response from the owner, explaining that they do have a peanut-free mixer at this location for customers with peanut allergies, it just needs to be clarified before-hand so the staff are aware. Definitely feel a bit silly for not mentioning my allergy, so lesson learned. I really appreciate the quick response from the owner and will forever be...
