Made reservations today 12/28 for 7pm. We arrived and the restaurant was busy so we were told to wait at the "bar", which is a matter of a few feet long where a group of 4 was already waiting for a table. Soon after another group of 5 or so walk in also. This is a very small room and even smaller bar with only a few stools. After waiting a while and multiple waitresses going behind the bar to make drinks for their tables, a man from one of the other parties turns to us and says something about the fact that they don't even have anyone at the bar making drinks for anyone waiting. So now two groups of people were irritated. They were finally seated and we were waiting still with more people piling into this tiny room. STILL. NO. BARTENDER. at 7:30 we decided to tell one of the waitresses that we were leaving after 30 minutes of waiting for a table for our 7:00 RESERVATION. Why take reservations at all???????
So after explaining to her that we've been waiting for too long she apologized, and then I pointed out that in that 30 minutes they had no one making drinks for any of the numerous people that were waiting and I kid you not, her response was "yeah".
We live locally and have supported this business for years and have suggested it to friends and family who have also visited but the past few times I'm embarrassed to say the least to have suggested it. On more than 3 occasions we have been there when the staff has begun to clean up for the night before their closing time of 9pm. They have swept around us at our table and put chairs up at tables surrounding us.
WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING??? This is a decent place to eat but for god's sake. Tell me where you have ever dined where staff has swept around you flicking the day's dirt up...
Read moreI have had lunch several times here. Have always had a good meal. enjoyed going even with drive from Binghamton and a noisy atmosphere. I have wanted to go for dinner, and my son being in town seemed to be the perfect time. WRONG. Made a reservation for 7pm as they eat late. Arrived on time and was asked to wait in bar. No bartender but several tables with diners. About three times someone different came in and said our table would be ready soon. Could see an empty table the entire time. They were in and out so fast no time to ask a question or see a menu or get a drink. There were three adults and one child. Were seated after 20-25 min. Waiter was abrupt and I was on the end of the booth near him. It was so loud we could not hear much of what he said. Ordered quickly. I went to desk to ask for something for the child to write on. Was given a tiny pad and told they needed it back. One good dinner out of 4. I had crab cakes which were good. Everyone else had overcooked food. Son ordered ribs which were overcooked. He asked me to taste his mashed potatoes. They had so much white pepper I could not have eaten them. He was starved so he did. The buffalo wrap was fried to death and very sloppy and spicy. She had not been able to ask how hot and is used to hot food but could not eat it. The child's fries and chicken were overcooked. And of course we felt rushed to leave as they were closing. It seemed like extra tables were added...the noise was unbearable. Acoustics should be evaluated. Less tables and longer hours? The staff and kitchen may be over worked or unorganized....
Read moreWhat a disappointment. Drove from Oneonta this afternoon to give this place a try for lunch. We came in through the front door. There was a clean table and a booth that needed to be cleared. We told the waitress (?) Or the owner (not sure because it is a small place) that we wished to sit at the booth. She said she'd clear it and to give her a moment. We waited quietly and patiently for her to do so. Next thing I know, another couple comes in through the side/back entrance and she walks them over to the booth we've been waiting on (still dirty). I reminded her that we were there first and have been waiting on the booth. She says to me "Did you make reservations?" I said "No, did I need to?" She never answered me just continues to seat the second couple. The gentleman from the other party of two said " We didn't either" and she continues to seat them. I was stunned. My husband, who recently had surgery and would have been much more comfortable in the booth said "What should we do?" And I said we'll leave. She never said anything to us even though she could hear the other gentleman and us clearly. Not sure what that was all about. My husband thought maybe the other couple were regulars, but I've worked in restaurants for years and have never in my life seen anything like what...
