Why Knot Tiki Bar at Swan Bay Resort — Restaurant in Town of Alexandria

The bar is nice and very convenient. The prices are a bit high, but we enjoyed the prices associated with the Pirate's weekend specials. I was surprised when checking out, the bartender (Chelsea) handed us the "remote" to input a tip %. We had to request a total amount, which she provided verbally, to determine the amount we were tipping. Generally I tip in cash, so being aware of the total amount owed prior to the tipping process would have been beneficial. The owner (R. Reddick) contacted us about our visit to the Tiki Bar as he had heard we had an issue at the bar. We explained our experience and he told us he was not aware of the bar tab checkout process. I attended the Sorta Cinco event. The weather was questionable, I was uncertain what to expect. We arrived to the sound of music and aroma of food. Large umbrellas kept us dry and the propane heaters warm. The special drink menu was perfect for the occasion. The bar staff, quick and friendly, greeting their guests with smiles. They had events that engaged crowd participation. The food trucks were delicious and the entertainment over the top. Gino and friends played the classics through today's top ten. We have been to swan bay several times and enjoy it very much. I do have a disturbing issue that I feel should addressed. We love the tiki bar and we feel the prices are high. When there is a sign on the gate before going in that says you cannot bring in your own drinks and 4 people went by us at the bar with coolers and went upstairs that’s a little irritating.
