We finally decided to try this restaurant after reading rave reviews on a local social media page. It did in fact live up to its hub bub...so much so that we went 2 Saturday nights in a row with our 5-year-old in tow, no less. The first weekend my husband I both ordered the black & white tuna and it was PERFECT. I'm kind of a pain in that I like things cooked all the way through--pink = raw in my book and reminds me what I'm eating. Very often a chef doesn't want to "ruin" a cut of meat or fish, but it was perfect and not burnt. My husband had his as he says "as God intended," just seared and it was also amazing. I started with the leek and beet salad--and here is my only issue with this restaurant...I think the beets were sliced, canned beets and there were only 4 slices. If you're going to put the word "beet" as part of the name of a salad there should be many of them and they should be fresh. It was still delicious and no reason to knock a star off the review. The service was fantastic the first week and decent the second weekend. It was crowded both times and the waitstaff are humans, not robots so they had their work cut out for them.
Last night we both ordered a dinner special, parmesan-crusted swordfish and it was very tasty and fresh. We started with a volcano roll just to give their rooftop sushi bar a try...EXCELLENT!
The view is perfect at this hot spot too--seated right on a pier if you choose outdoors, which we did both times. And we are not typically al fresco diners...we hate eating outside when it's very hot or humid, but we asked for a table in full shade and was accommodated. With the breeze off of the water it was perfect. You can also sit "semi outside" in a sun room that leads to the outdoor dining. You may sit fully inside the dining room or at the bar.
They were also kid friendly and I stole a bite of my daughter's mac n cheese off the kids' menu...I was jealous!

Read moreWe made mothers day reservations 2 weeks prior. We requested to sit outside. We went today and were told that we can't sit outside because we have a big party. Understood of course but a) you knew we had a big party when we made the reservations and b) we saw a bigger party than ours sitting outside...our reservation was for 12... We sat down ordered...waited...waited...other tables came and went and we were still waiting for our food. We had to complain for them to actually bring our our food( we all ordered sandwiches and maybe one dish of pasta) we got our food at 1:40. Our kids ages(1,10,8 and 6 months) just wanted to leave at that point...they didn't want to be sitting at a table for 3 hours. The manager came over and apologized but unfortunately that doesn't do anything..our mothers day was ruined! I ordered a lobster BLT... nowhere in the menu did it say anything about celery in the BLT...I can't eat celery...I told our waitress and she said yea we put lobster salad but that's not what the menu says....the menu says lobster BLT not lobster salad blt...the celery was more than the lobster...my husband ordered seafood wrap that had 2 shrimp in it and the rest was filled with lettuce...they removed our drinks off the bill but again it doesn't excuse the fact that it took over an hour for our food to come out and the fact that our Mothers day plans got ruined. Such a nice a restaurant nice view... horrible...
Read moreI have been at this establishment quite a few times in the past and always had a great (5 star) experience whether we were dining for dinner or drinks on the rooftop. Well this past Saturday the experience went to total garbage. The waitress who started to wait on us acted as if she couldn't be bothered if she took our order or not. My boyfriend ordered a soda and the soda was given to him in a plastic cup as if we were in a buffet. Then he ordered the skirt steak medium well and receives 3 tiny pieces that you would put on a half of a sandwich. To go along with the tiny morsels the medium well came out dry like shoe leather where could have used those tiny pieces to re-sole the back half of one shoe heel. All that for $35.00 mind you. At the end of the dinner another waiter now comes and drops off the check because the waitress was to busy working on other tables. The worse part of it is my boyfriend is not cheap and still gave the staff a 20% tip knowing they work for a living. In the future please be aware. I will make sure we dont ever go back especially since we just moved into the neighborhood. There are so many other places to go and enjoy their food without the...
