My experience with this restaurant was absolutely horrible. I ordered food for my party and they ruined it with bad uncooked food. The day of the event i called 2 hrs in advance to check on my order. The Guy was very rude and annoyed that i was calling, very disrespectfully he told me that my order would be ready at the time they had told me which was 2pm. At 3pm i sent someone to pick up the order and they told her that they didn’t have any orders for that name. I called them to explain and the same guy told me he wasn’t aware of what i was talking about. After arguing and 1 hour later they finally realized that they gave my order to someone else. I was very upset and frustrated with the whole ordeal, rather than reassure me the same rude nasty idiotic simpleton proceeded to cuss me out and told me that he would return my deposit if i kept telling him how disappointed i was of his service. After another 1/2hr of back and forth he said to give him 1hr to prepare my order. 2 hrs after, the order was finally ready. When the food arrived at the party the Griot was tasteless had no seasoning and the macaroni and cheese was uncooked and not fully baked. Don’t waste your money on this dump, they need to learn proper etiquette and customer service. They act like they are doing you a favor as opposed to you spending your hard earned money to keep them in business Needless to say i will never order...
Read moreI was just in today for some really great food, and i had to leave because the Lady that was making the plates was extremely preoccupied not being pleasant to other customers. I just asked her "if and will there be other menu items will be coming out. Another customer asked if his plates was being made as well?" She could one acknowledged me( it feels good to be ignored) and she could have responded along the lines of "yes or no and after these customers I will go back there and ck on your order". Sounds much nicer then what she actually said- Candy Island Tastes omg their food is amazing and it makes me mad when the day one needs something that homemade nuturing; one has to bow out due to people who are frustrated in their own lives. What I recommended is calling or online in your order so one does not has to deal with BS from the Older Lady. There's a great friendly Older gentleman that's works behind the counter and he is WONDERFUL. I'm asking the Universe to bless this restaurant further however please keep the Older Lady in the kitchen and give her all of our good wishes. As I say fellow Deer Park Residents and anyone, This restaurant is Great beyond words- I feel as if I'm eating from my own Grandmother's kitchen!!!!!!!!!!! ITS DEFINITELY A MUST TO HAVE ON ANYDAY WHEN ONE NEEDS TLC...
Read moreI recently visited Canzy Island in Long Island hoping for some delicious Haitian food, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Tasso fritay, and the tasso itself had absolutely no flavor. The Akra was decent, and the fried banan was okay, though it was completely lacking salt. I also tried the griot and rice, and let me tell you, the griot was dreadful. It tasted like it had been fried in old, stale oil. A real red flag.
This place definitely does not represent authentic Haitian cuisine. If you’re craving Haitian food, do yourself a favor and drive to Queens instead. Try Good Taste or Flanm Cuisine – both serve fresh, flavorful food with generous portions. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is far superior to what I experienced here. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere for real...
