Do not go here if you have any type of allergy!!!!!! The staff is not considerate or knowledgeable when it comes to allergies. I have a gluten allergy - celiac and I asked all the questions I typically ask when I order my food and they assured me it was gluten free. I pick up my food (drunken noodles) and it contained breaded chicken in it. I called and asked if the chicken was breaded for my GF meal and they said yes it is lightly breaded. I explained to them that if you say something is gluten free it should not have any gluten. I went back with the food and brought it to them, not touched. They give me a new one and the new food had tofu in it that was fried (I had asked them to only use veggies). Again not gluten free because they do not have separate fryers for their meat. This place is ridiculous and do not understand allergies or cross contamination. Wouldn’t recommend. They shouldn’t be serving people if they don’t understand the health consequences of people who eat things they are...
Read moreThis is just a quick review as I grabbed takeout near work yesterday. I have been enjoying exploring lunch spots in Delmar over the past months since I started working in the area last September.
Yesterday, with our kitchen at work closed and no food left in the fridge at home, I realized I was going to need to grab something. I had to run in to Price Chopper anyway, so I decided this would be a great time to try Tomo. The dining area looked nice - small space but inviting and definitely worthy of a try sometime for dine in.
Huge portions for the lunch special I ordered - just over $11 (bring cash if you want the 5% discount) for a huge portion of sesame chicken, pint of white rice, and choice of soup or salad. They even honored my request for white meat instead. I didn't love the wonton soup, will try the salad next time...
Read moreThe decor sets a casual but classy tone in a shopping plaza location, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I had the chirashi sushi, which in its classical form is a variety of fresh fish and other sushi toppings spread out over the sushi seasoned rice in a bowl. This presentation was on a plate with a large shaped mound of rice with a pleasing arrangement of sliced fish. I don't like to see "white tuna" in my sushi selections, so I was disappointed that it was part of this dish, but the other fish was very good and there were good condiments in and around the fish, making it a nice way to blend all the fish with the different flavors. All the garnish was fresh greenery, including shiso leaf, which I like to see and to use as a flavoring. I'll go back when the mood for sushi...
