This place is located in the old friendly’s in Middle Island and I emphasize old! Absolutely nothing was changed other than the staff and menu, this place is absolutely filthy! Still has balloon strings hanging from the disgusting ceiling, duct tape patches on the seats, stained walls and carpet. Bad enough they couldn’t slap some fresh paint on the walls and ceiling and maybe a few new seat cushions but to not even give the place a good cleaning? On to the food. How do you open a gourmet grilled cheese shop and only have 2 actual grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu? My wife sent back the vanilla shake she got which should have warned us to bail out right then and there. We got the fried avocado and sweet potato fries app, fries were greasy and undercooked while the avocado were greasy and over cooked. 2 of us got the kitchen sinque which was not good at all, neither of us finished our meal. Hardly any cheese or bacon on the driest yet somehow still the greasiest bread I’ve ever eaten, the fries were ok. My wife got the honey bbq grilled cheese which she said was about half as good as the same sandwich you get at friendly’s only they call it a honey bbq chicken super melt. My other son got the country chicken sandwich and it didn’t come with any syrup you had to ask for it on the side and again was not very good. As I was eating this lousy meal I overheard someone talking about how this place was owned by the same people that own the crazy crepe cafe which explains everything because that place is just as lousy, had I known this before hand I would never have tried this place. Really we had to return a vanilla shake? Very poor! I’m not sure where these people giving this place 5 stars are used to eating but I can promise you they either have no tastebuds left or it’s friends or staff leaving...
Read moreMy Dad, Grandmother and I decided to go out to eat at this place!! And let me tell you we were absolutely shocked at how much we liked it!! I’m a vegan and rarely go out to eat!! I’m usually afraid of the food not being made right or cross contamination etc. I also have terrible anxiety about crowded and loud restaurants, but the environment was incredible!! Super relaxing atmosphere with just chill vibes. Almost the whole time we had the place basically to ourselves, which was super nice and comforting!! But this place was absolutely incredible!!! My favorite go to meal as a kid in any restaurant was Grilled Cheese and when I found out MELTology had Vegan Grilled Cheese, (so I was excited about that!!) It was an easy decision to dine here!!! I wasn’t expecting it to be incredible since certain vegan cheeses just aren’t the same but this place hit it out of the park!! The server was super nice and answered all of my questions and she even offered for them to not use any butter or oils and have a piece of aluminum foil when they made it so it wouldn’t risk any cross contamination!! When we got our food it was delicious!!! Couldn’t even tell that it wasn’t real cheese, my dad who’s not vegan even ate half and absolutely loved it!! That was my very 1st time having vegan grilled cheese from an actual restaurant and I will definitely be coming back for more!!! 10/10 would highly recommend!! Will definitely 100% be coming back here again and again!!!

Read moreI'm not exactly sure how or who is giving this place 5 stars. When we arrived there was only one other table. Should of known something was up. I ordered a bacon grilled Mac and Cheese and fried with cheese. My friend ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries.
First thing I taste is the fries with the cheese. Make no mistake, worst cheese I've ever had. It tasted stale/bad which I didn't think was possible. My friend takes a bit into his bigger and the amount of grease that came out was nasty. He put the burger down and says, this is horrible. He opens the bun and there wasn't even bacon. I tried my sandwich and it to tasted off.
The manager came over and I tried to salvage the meal by having just a Mac and cheese. Again, it tasted 'off'.
The staff was really nice and tried to offer dessert, but we both had lost our appetite (and we are eaters). They discounted our meal (which we really should of just said no way but we were trying not to take it out on the waitress).
This was not a good experience at all. if the name of your place is called meltology, you should at least have really good cheese.
Also the people at the other table were put...
