Pete's Bagels and Brunch Eastport — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I’ve lived in this area for over ten years and tbh I’ve wanted to like this place. It’s local, should be convenient, but the fact is the people who run the place are rude and have gotten comfortable with the fact that people still come here because it’s close by.

Not only are the workers turned over way too often, but they do not care about anyone who comes in unless they recognize them and can have a conversation.

I have gone here multiple times, trying to give the place a chance. They have always gotten my family’s order wrong and when I go in on my own, they take forever to get anything done. You will wait there on the line which packs out the door and the lady will be talking to someone who is waiting for their food. This morning specifically- I have reached my limit with Pete’s bagels and refuse to go anymore. It is ridiculous. My coffee had to be remade 3 times because the girl who made it poured half of the creamer in there. I ended up just dealing with it and threw it out after a few sips. I wasted my money. The phone continued ringing and no one picked it up the half hour I waited for my food (a small thing of hashbrowns and a coffee). I’m so disappointed in this place. I wanted thus to be a good shop where i look foward to going to, ive been here a few times, & each time I didnt feel welcomed here, &its price gauged pretty bad here as if we were in the hamptons , each time im wating to get my order taken its like noone wants to take my order, I feel bad for the workers who have to charge the steep price for almost average food & if it was a better id have less issues especially for a small single 2oz bag of hals chips 2.50 ea & all drinks like joes tea 3$for singing i get else where for 1.50-2$ and that is rediculous, the meat often tastes dry and chicken salad tastes old i can just go to the king kullen and down the street and get a 16oz bag of chips for around 3-4$ and affordable drink, i liked the bag of bagel chips they used tp have but those were way over priced at 10$. Really enjoy the food particularly the seasoned breakfast potatoes and good bagels. The prices are also really reasonable. But 3 stars because staff has been rude so many times now that I don't bother going. When calling in it's so abrasive I just rather not do it... One time I was standing there for a while waiting to order and then was told that I was standing in the wrong spot so it's my fault that no one asked for my order (I've been going here since I was a kid and that was a first) and most recently, similar issue of standing there and everyone behind counter was chatting and cleaning up and it took a longgg time until someone finally asked if I had been helped.
