William Floyd Diner — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

AWFUL HORRIBLE DIRTY LITTLE MONEY MAKING SCAM DINER! I ordered a cheese burger, which after 2 bites discovered it was a DISGUSTING HOCKEY PUCK! Not the waitress fault. I discussed my experience w the owner, who shrugged his shoulders at me & said I should've come to him sooner w my complaint. Apparently, 5 minutes was to long of a time span. That alone irritated me! The woman at cash register asked me if everything was ok? I said no. I explained to her that it was my first time here & I was very disappointed that I didn't enjoy my food at all. She says sorry, as she charges me a separate fee for using MY debit card!!! TALK ABOUT A MONEY MAKING SCAM! I will not be coming back! I have every intention on spreading the word via social media & put my big mouth to good use, as I do live local. Next time I'll drive the extra 5 minutes to get to the Moriches Bay Diner!!! .... At first I was going to leave a negative review, only because we kept ordering from Door Dash and my order was constantly missing something. However, when I brought it to the attention of the William Floyd Diner, mainly the waitresses, they were very kind and supportive. They accommodated me in any way they could. The last time I ordered I dealt with Tiffany and I called her in advance to let her know that I placed and order with Door Dash, which they suggested, and she had already made sure that my order was correct. I like the chicken salad platter and to go a step further Tiffany put the coleslaw in a different container so that the juice wouldn't leak on to the rest of the food. That was cool. I have to say that the waitresses and greeters have always been wonderful. They greet you with open arms and they are very attentive. So the positive out weights the negative, by far. I gave 5 stars because of the waitresses that have went out of their way to ensure a customer was...

The food was good at the diner. The pricing is pretty similar to other diners. Service was adequate. The only thing that got me a little bit perturbed was upon paying my bill, they asked you what percentage of tip you want to leave and put it right in instead of you filling it out after the fact. I said 20%. I guess that came to about $9.20. Then the person at the counter asked me if I wanted to just bump it up to an even 10? I have no problem supporting waitstaff. Used to do it myself. And I consider myself a good Tipper. Just that was a little presumptuous and frankly overstepping and rubbed me the wrong way. They also have a sign stating that they don't give change? So if I were to have been paying in cash and my bill was $42 and I had $60 they would not give me my change? The whole thing just seems a little shady to me when it comes to money and makes me weary to patronize again. However like I said, the food was good and it is basically the only Diner...
