Michelangelo's Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Callicoon

We were passing through town early afternoon, in time for lunch. We noticed Michelangelo’s. It was very clean looking from the outside and their special board looked good so we thought we would give it a try. Everything was wonderful! The inside of the restaurant was just as clean and crisp, bathrooms were too. Loved the large sink! Those working there were so nice, polite and helpful. I had a BLT wrap, my husband had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The wrap was full of goodness, nothing lacking there. The cheesesteak was bursting from the bun , melted cheese all over the top. It looked delicious and he said it was. There were no leftovers to take back to the hotel! Michelangelo’s Restaurant really came through for us on a 10-day catering event. We had several dietary restrictions, including attendees who were vegans, had a strict gluten free diet, and one person with serious nut allergies. Steve and Alex were able to accommodate each of these restrictions with delicious options for each of them, handling everything with professionalism and care. The gluten free attendee noted that he gets sick easily, even when food is labeled gluten-free, but he felt great after eating at Michelangelo’s. The food was consistently excellent, with a great variety and inclusive options that kept everyone happy throughout the event. Steve and Alex were always so pleasant to work with for the full 10 days. I've dined here and gotten to go orders many times, and it has always been delicious! The menu options are great, food tastes fresh, the portions are incredible, and is always prepared quickly. Our most recent experience did go a bit astray from our usual experience, I have never seen the place so busy! Our waitress was able to keep up with how busy it was, checking in on us several times as she moved through her tables. Our sandwiches (Italian hero and one of the chicken cutlet specials) arrived quickly, but somehow our third persons order of chicken fingers got lost in the understandably very busy kitchen, and arrived 15 minutes later. My food was very tasty, the only reason I'm giving 4 stars at this time is the chicken cutlet was only cooked through on one half of my hero, the other half was still pinkish...
