China Star — Restaurant in Town of Caneadea

As one of three choices in Houghton (college cafeteria and subway being the other two), China Star is one of the more popular. It is a tradition for most students, when they come back from breaks, to eat their first meal back in town at the China Star just to avoid the cafeteria food. The place holds a lot of sentimental value for some students. On to more practical matters though. Most people order "to go". The building used to be a barn and now has the kitchen and waiting area in the ground floor and the dining area upstairs. If there is ANYONE else up there, it is impossible to have a private conversation, so you have to hope that whoever is coming up the stairs wants to sit with you, 'cause LORD knows they'll end up talking with you, whether either of you wanted it that way. Other than that, their beef and broccoli is pretty good, the curry chicken is surprisingly good and the sweet and spicy soup is nice option if you're in the mood for something different. I just had the lunch special, which was sweet n sour chicken. It was delicious and made fresh within 5 minutes of me waiting inside.
