Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Town of Canton

The new Pizza Hut in Canton, NY 13617, is a beautiful, upbeat restaurant. A few things are new: when you want to order, you have to walk up to the counter to do so, this can be difficult for disabled people, but exceptions may be made. I walk with 2 canes, and still I had to walk to the counter with my order; after 4pm, the waitress will take your order from your table. We ordered a medium pan pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. It didn't seem to be a long wait, but when the waitress brought our pizza, she handed me a card with handwriting on it and said to me, " You have waited too long for your pizza, so here's a card for a free pizza the next time you come in." I was grateful and very surprised; for it felt a little longer of a wait but not too long to me. The pizza flavor was most excellent! The perfect cross between tender and crispy. Not over done or doughy, just perfect. I had an ice water and my friend had a bottle of milk. It was an 8oz bottle and $1.49 was the price. The total bill came to around $18.50. The eating areas are clean. The restrooms are clean and handicap accessible. They have about 7-8 televisions around the room. They have a nice salad bar. The handicap parking is ample and right in front of the doorway. The regular parking area is nice and clean. All in all it was a very pleasant experience. We are from out of state and when visiting family often eat here. Ate twice recently, once in Late September and again two days ago. The Pizza was great but what happened to the Salad Bar? We primarily paid for a salad and ate lettuce. There were no cucumbers except the ones frozen on the bottom of the container. No usual "Pizza Hut" salad toppings, like tomatoes, green peppers, onions, carrots, sunflower seeds or even bacon bits. I didn't want olives or banana peppers. Because we ordered 4 salads, I decided to go with lettuce, mushrooms, and two of the last frozen/stuck cucumbers, and dressing but my instincts said to take it off the order.....I should have gone with my instincts. My family got seated and watched the several employees there walk and “work” around our table for 20-25 minutes before we even got cups brought to us. Our waitress (Olivia) only came to our table twice the entire time we were there. When she brought our pizza in a HOT pan she sat it in front of our baby. I had to go to the register to ask for ranch and to order a desert to go. We spoke to the manager about our experience and he basically shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. The employees spent more time standing around talking and leaning than they did actually working. The floors were dirty (not just the average winter salt type of dirty either) with soiled napkins and crumbs. My toddler found a Halloween coloring page in our booth… 4 days before Christmas?
