I hadn't been to Maybacks since pre-COVID, and I stopped going because the quality had declined. The other week I decided to give them another chance and was pleasantly surprised to find they were under new management that actually cares about quality and treats the customers well. I've been back two or three times since. Their salads, subs, and sides are all top notch. This is my new favorite place to get takeout. The people working there are all super friendly, and very helpful. Plus they keep the place WAY cleaner than the previous owners and the food is way fresher. They've definitely turned this place around and I'm happy to see it. Tip: Get the cherry peppers on your subs, totally worth it.
Update: Just got an order of honey mustard chicken fingers. Best chicken fingers I've ever had. Not even slightly greasy. My wife got a souvlaki wrap (with the added cherry peppers of course) and she said that it was by far the best wrap she has ever had. Easily my new favorite place to get takeout. One of the hidden gems of the city.
Update: Can now confirm the fish fries are huge and delicious and the cheesecake is DIVINE. The owner is just about the nicest man you'll ever meet. It's rare that you go into a business anymore and get warmly greeted like...
Read moreI worked as a driver for this place a while ago. Like most pizzarias they include a default delivery charge for all orders, but unlike most pizzerias this charge goes to the owner and not the driver. I believe this is unethical because most of the customers know about this charge and assume it is there so the driver can get something on orders that dont tip, and many customers will tip less or not at all because they see that delivery charge assuming it goes in the drivers pocket.
I think it also needs to be said that this place is owned by a very hard working immigrant family, and they do deserve the communities support. They are overall kind and honest people. I just believe the drivers are entitled to the delivery fee, as that mechanism was founded for drivers in the pizzeria culture as a whole. The place is also very clean, which is a lot more than can be said for thier competitors. And the food is good. The owner works the line directly and will hardly let anyone else make the food, which imo adds more stress than is necessary because i could make everything on thier menu from prior experience. This is a multi-generational business that takes pride in offering a...
Read moreI had the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!!! I ordered a sheet pizza and 30 wings, after driving 8 hrs from NH with the family, to my mothers house for 5pm. Once I got there I realized I ordered to the wrong number address, called back and gave new address, and was assured by the employee the driver would be called and everything would b fine. About 20 mins later I was called back by a male employee whom informed me my pizza was delivered to the wrong address and accepted by the homeowner. No signature for the credit card was given from what I could tell yet the pizza was handed over. Due to it being all my fault I was out the pizza and the money. I asked for a refund and was refused and told "if I had a problem come down to the pizzeria with the police" I have called my bank and informed them if he situation. I don't want anyone to have to deal with this type of HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DISHONESTY! On top of everything he acted like I was trying...
