Tried 3 times and we are now sadly done. Would of loved to support this small local business, but not going back. 1st visit: I got a burger, my husband got breakfast. Burger was flat, premade patty, nothing you would ever have a reason to order again. Breakfast was ok, but home fries we not crispy as ordered and onion requested in them was raw. The one owner that waited on us was very nice. She told us of their working history and how their pizza is awesome ( they offer a sweet sauce) which is my favorite kind and they precook their wings which allows then to be very crispy yet tender inside. I couldn’t wait to try both. 2nd experience: I called to order pizza & wings. I was told they had no dough ready. I ordered wings extra, extra crispy medium. I said I would be eating them there. When I arrived 20 minutes later I had to wait a short time for my order which was fine I wanted then crispy! Well, not only were they not the least bit crispy, but they were close to being undercooked. It was obvious I didn’t like them because I barely took a bite out of each one, however I wasn’t asked and for some reason I didn’t say anything. Time #3: I ordered Eggs Benedict and my husband got eggs, ham & pancakes. Both came with home fries which we ordered crispy with onion. When the food arrived the waitress (I believe she is the other owner) said can I get you anything else? I said “yes, crispy home fries please” she said they are fresh and that’s the crispiest she could get them. They were slightly hard and again the onion was raw. The hollandaise sauce was flavorless. The ham was a half of a slice. Again I left 80% of my food on the plate. There are 4 breakfast places within a few miles of each other. This is why there were 2 tables occupied at Amici and 2 others places had a wait to be seated. It’s a shame because we used to go to the previous restaurant that was...
Read moreThe good: Coffee, Food (that was prepared correctly), friendliness of staff upon entering, cleanliness (very clean, the hood in the kitchen was SHINING), a corrected order (mistakes happen, they fixed it). Got sat immediately.
The average: price wasn't the best but it wasn't over the top ($44+tip for 2x 222 and 1x 111 breakfasts and coffees. Decor is millennial gray which is fine. Everything took a little longer than the norm but it wasn't anything egregious. I quite enjoy relaxing with breakfast rather than getting pushed out.
The bad: Cash only. Waited awhile to get our order taken, didn't get my plate of eggs and such until after everyone else and it was incorrect (asked for homefries with onions, instead got semi-burnt hashbrowns with rings of raw onions on top, and my eggs were underdone; I specifically asked for over medium with "whites fully cooked" verbatim [which is not something you hould have to say but so many places get it wrong, case in point they still got it wrong]). I'm not going to ding them a star for this, but I definitely heard staff in the back get annoyed that I returned my eggs saying "that's how they're supposed to be" to eachother. No, that' wrong - even over EASY is fully cooked whites with a very runny yolk which is why I asked for over med because of the whites, but don't get mad when you make eggs incorrectly and get them back. It then took the entirety of everyone else finishing before I got the corrected plate of eggs and homefries, but they were done correctly and delicious.
Overall, I recommend this place if you dont mind having a leisurely breakfast with no time constraints. Also, mistakes happen and I don't need to get mad about it since they corrected the mistake with and a friendly apology and good food. Don't much care for the conversation at the grill about how eggs are supposed...
Read moreI visited the diner this morning, after a long absence. I've always preferred local dining places opposed to chain restaurants. Upon arrival, I was demanded to sit a 4 place table (I was alone) or the counter, even though there were 3 empty 4 place booths available. The reason given to me by the blonde partner was that they lose too business if the booth is occupied by 1 person. That obviously makes no sense, since all the seating (tables or booths) are made for 4 people. There are 2 tables in one area where they could be combined. My meal, as always, was very good, prepared by the chef/partner. The blonde, almost immediately after serving the food, drop the check off and quickly said the word (good) and walked away and never to return. She was extremely rude for no apparent reason. Upon paying, I asked if there was something I did wrong to warrant that treatment, and she barked it is their policy to place a single diner at a table or the counter. She then dismissed me. The diner was never more than half full my...
