I guess this would be a decent place to go have drinks just because of the beautiful atmosphere, it's in a very old church, you feel like you're stepping back in time when you look around, very high ceilings and stained glass windows, uniquely decorated. As for the food, we were disappointed and would not go back. our meals were both barely warm and so bland. The cheesy garlic bread appetizer was okay. wasnt warm all the way through, marinara dipping sauce was ok. The meals are also served with homemade bread and it was decent but it could have been warmer and softer. The bread is served with some type of whipped honey butter, and olive oil with a very light sprinkle of dried herbs and balsamic vinegar. I asked for regular butter and they brought cold butter, nobody wants to struggle to spread cold butter on bread. They had pickled onions in the salad which was odd because not everybody likes pickled foods. We ordered the potato and cheddar pierogies, very bland, I didn't detect any cheese, the potato inside tasted like plain boiled potato, no flavor, i didn't taste any cheddar either. the dough texture was good. There wasn't much filling in them at all and they were rather small for the price. they came with sauteed onions and sour cream- my friend loved the onions. they tasted like they were cooked in something sweet. My friend ordered the chicken parmesan with fettuccine alfredo and said it was the worst he had ever had, I didn't try the chicken but the alfredo sauce on the pasta was completely bland and flavorless. He said the chicken had no flavor either although the breading on it was good. There was hardly any cheese on it and he had asked for extra alfredo sauce when we ordered (there wasn't extra sauce but it didn't matter because it was flavorless anyway). there's no enjoyment to eating when food is bland and flavorless, you have to smother everything in salt and pepper. they have a nice outdoor patio, and they had garden boxes of fresh herbs and tomatoes along the walkway that said they were free to pick whatever you wanted- that was a really nice touch! so the atmosphere was unique and cool, the food was disappointing, the service was good, but we would not go back. RESPONSE TO OWNER-- it's unfortunate that you cannot take constructive criticism, and instead are so defensive that you accused me of having an ulterior motive, which is absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore, it's very odd that you chose to ignore all the positive things that I said about the restaurant, and only focused on the negative. Your response is very telling of your character. its my review of your food, so obviously it would be based on my opinion, but there were 2 of us who both thought that both meals were bland and barely warm. I review new restaurants each week and am in googles top 10% of american restaurant reviewers. my only motive is to give an honest review based on my experience for others to read. perhaps other items on your menu are great, but after what we had (and for the price) we didnt find it worth it to go back and find out. my friend has quite low standards for food, so for him to say his alfredo was the worst was out of the ordinary. i was honest, i included that he said the breading on the chicken was good, and i added that he loved the onions. I have high standards for food, but even a chain restaurant like Carrabba's has chicken that's way more flavorful... food MUST be flavorful for me to give a good review. best...
Read moreWe came to Morluski’s Restaurant on a Monday evening @ 6:15 pm. It looked like a great place to share a meal as it’s an old church. We entered through the back and waited to be seated. Although there were people seated at three tables, the hostess acted like it was a problem to seat us without reservations! Only one other couple came in while we were there, 80% of the restaurant was empty… Tchotchkes are everywhere throughout the dining and bar areas, not really sure why a flamingo toilet paper roll (with pink toilet paper) should be hanging on a wall in the main dining area. Flamingos ARE everywhere!! After seating us and taking our orders, we were served a sour dough bread with a balsamic dipping oil and butter. Then we had a salad to share. Both were good. I ordered the 🥒 Pickle Soup (Ogorkowa), which had a good flavor but seemed to be lacking something. Oh yeah - THE PICKLES!! There wasn’t a Pickle to be found in it!!! I asked the server where the pickles were and she insisted that they were ‘ground up’ in the broth. They weren’t. At $6.00 a bowl, Do Not Order! We ordered two different entrees ‘The Pole Plate’ and the Stuffed Cabbage (Golabki), and added two pierogi (farmers cheese). Everything looked good but what was lacking were the proteins and the seasonings! The pierogi that they served us were potato with caramelized onions and the server insisted they were farmers cheese, they weren’t. I cut them both in half for her to ‘see’ the potato. Took 15 minutes before we were given the right ones. The golabki consisted of 4 layers of unflavored cabbage. The protein inside was about the size of half a hot dog! Overall it was flavorless and lacking of any real substance! I can’t really tell you what the sauce served with it was, it’s just listed as ‘traditional sauce’. Being of Polish descent, I know what these foods should taste like AND how to prepare them…I’m uncertain that the cooks here know what traditional Polish foods taste like! I definitely would not recommend this as a Polish Restaurant to try!! Very disappointing overall - 1.5 stars Don’t waste your time OR money. Your taste buds will be unsatisfied AND Your wallet won’t like taking the...
Read moreI love the decoration here - exquisite!
Their lime and cucumber with mint water was refreshing but nothing special, I believe you can easily make it at home.
Their in house salad was amazing, I wonder how they can make the dressing so addicting, and the combination of cucumber and cherry tomatoes are just so refreshing!
Their in house bread was just okay - but I did like the flavor from the crust.
But I have to say, the olive oil and the vinegar they choose, wow! UNBELIEVABLE! And the spices they put into it, delicious!
The New York Strip Steak - I liked the flavor, but I didn’t understand the potato pancake under it, why? Just unnecessary. And the grilled Brussels sprouts were very tasty and not too soft. But the steak was over cooked, I asked for medium but it came out even more burnt than medium well. I recommend you order a level down - which my server did.
The cheese snack thing, that is way too normal. I don’t understand why it is a popular thing. But I did like the caramelized onions that came with it, yum!
Lastly, dessert. The dessert I got was a polish chocolate cake called Wuzetka. It is a chocolate cake with whipped cream inside. I like the whipped cream inside, it is some good whipped cream.
Overall, I very much love the atmosphere here, the decorations. It seems like a family restaurant, foods taste like with emotions, not something from package and taste no human.
But I didn’t like it took them very long time to check each table. Some servers are just standing there and doing nothing, while some servers busy as hell. Even the owner had to came out to help. But I love the owner, she had a...
