Bardonia Oriental — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

Bardonia Oriental is consistently our favorite go-to place for Chinese food. The chicken is most often quite delicious and tender, regardless of the dish that it's placed with. I'm most often preferred chicken with broccoli however I had chicken with Chinese vegetables last night and found it to be absolutely scrumptious! The beef with snow peas is delicious as well. One of our dear friends is Chinese and she refuses to eat Chinese food anywhere but there if that's any indication of the quality of their food. The egg rolls can be hit or miss at times having so much grease they're impossible to consume and other times being so delicious I would eat multiples if I had them! There thick Chinese noodles are rarely greasy and always delicious especially with duck sauce. We prefer the mustard that comes in a container to the hot sauce in a package. I would not recommend requesting sauce on the side as I have done a times because somehow the chicken and broccoli become overdone. Overall, as I've said there isn't any other Chinese restaurant in Rockland County that has earned my respect and is much repeat business as Bardonia Oriental. I forgot to mention how much we enjoyed the crab with cream cheese appetizer! They are very good at following specific orders so if you like your vegetables al dente to preserve the nutrients and simply let them know how long you would like to cook it the vegetables. Otherwise the broccoli tends to be somewhat soggy. With a little bit of accommodation and finagling and won't improved consistency for the egg rolls, I would delightfully add the extra star all the way!...

I’ve tried to order here in the past because I’ve heard great things, but the times I called for takeout they never pick up the phone. When I ordered yesterday, I called someone picked up and immediately hung up. Then I called back and it went to voice mail. I was in the area, so I decided to stop by in person and order takeout. Someone took my order immediately. I ordered a small chicken lo mein, small beef fried rice and a small boneless ribs. The total was $33. I think a little higher than most Chinese places, but I have no problem paying more for quality food. The lo mein didn’t have any flavor. It was very plain with mushrooms and chicken. The fried rice was good, but the beef was hard and tough. Could barely chew the beef. The boneless spare ribs I could eat were really good, but 1/3 of the small box was filled with completely burnt pieces that weren’t edible. I honestly expected better food and experience from the ratings. Maybe it was just an off day, but I was not happy with the quality of the food or the service, since they don’t pickup the...

The staff are very friendly and the food came out hot and quickly. However, once I got it, I was underwhelmed. I got some basics, nothing fancy.

The egg roll was good, the steamed dumplings were fine but nothing I would make a return trip for and the chicken fried rice was really bland. None of the fried flavor you are hoping for when you order that dish.

The restaurant was clean, they have about 4 tables. Typical atmosphere, no problems there. Prices were fair and reasonable.

I see from the reviews that many others love the place so maybe I just caught them on an off day, but the only reason I could see coming back was because the staff was friendly and fast.
