I was so excited to try this place and unfortunately, it was an overall disappointment. From first point of contact, it was sub par. The young lady who answered phone seemed to be irritated and annoyed that I asked a few questions about the menu, not to mention she was not familiar with the menu and had to keep putting me on hold to get the answers. This set a the negative tone for me!! Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time pizza was still warm First the pizza; It was the Vodka Sauce pizza, very flavorful, however extremely sparse on toppings, see photos. Barely had any of the listed toppings, mushrooms, pea, and prosciutto. In fact 2 slices were void of some toppings. It was heavy on the vodka sauce and extremely light on cheese and toppings. I was quite surprised they would send this pizza out. I must say despite the lack of toppings the sauce and pizza crust were flavorful. Second; Their version of Antipasto!! So so disappointing. All the veggies, seemed to be from can/jar, and were Completely Saturated in a heavy oil vinegar dressing. Way to much!! What really turned me off was the zucchini! And zero lettuce. Iāve e never heard of zucchini in an antipasto nor should it ever be in one , just doesnāt compliment the salad. We had to drain and rinse the remaining vegetables, tossing the saturated zucchini, in order for it to be edible . Only a few slices of meat, maybe 4 total, overpowering with marinated vegetables. I understand wanting to be different, but this salad was not at all appealing. With that being said, Iād like to make a few suggestions: Vodka Pizza. Be sure to add the correct amount of toppings to at least touch each slice of pizza, I know prosciutto is expensive, but each slice should have an even amount of everything. The sauce was very good, no changes on that! The Antipasto: well for starters, pull back on the overpowering dressing on the salad, maybe a nice drizzle and off the rest on the side. Remove the zucchini entirely, just not appealing or traditional. Offer the salad with or without lettuce!! That is a huge turnoff not to have fresh leaf lettuce in your antipasto. Also my cauliflower had turned slightly purple??? What was that about?? Anyway, I will wait a while and give them another try, hopefully they will focus on customer service and improving their menu selections! I hope...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend and I went to Bella Lucia today. I noticed their paper menu (picture menu) had the Sicilian which I think used to be the s8. I would always get that with spinach wrap. It was not on their website order online menu. So we called up and we verified it's not in the menu but they can make it. So we drove by I've never been there so we ended up having to go around twice - there's no parking on that exit side just the entrance side and in the back. So we parked along the wooden fence across from the side door. I noticed as we were doing our circle around the building they had a sign that said special two slices and a soda for $5.50. Their slices are shorter but very wide. I like their slices but they're sauces a little bit acidity for me. My friend said he likes to Savory of the sauce as opposed to sauces that are sweeter. Thought it was a really Pleasant Pizza had a good crunch the bottom was nice thin crust & the outer edge was just enough with a nice flavor to it. The sicilian. Or as I like to call it S8 at the half moon sandwich shop. Since they don't have spinach wraps when my friend went to order it I asked him to have them hollow out the bread so it'll be thinner. It comes with eggplant, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, thin sliced mozzarella, and a balsamic vinaigrette. It was huge. He had half the other half was for me. I actually split half of my slice and half of my half of the sandwich with my roommate. It was freaking amazing. It was everything I wanted and more.
They're in the plaza with Ocean State Job Lot next to the fitness place. It's a smaller place with some booths and tables. I did not go in this is my friends description. I sat outside with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start out by saying that we absolutely loved the Halfmoon Sandwich Shop. I do not understand why you would mess with a formula that was great - delicious, hot food; busy shop; reasonably priced; and a menu that you couldn't get at other places. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it! However that was all thrown by the wayside. So Bella Lucia was born...another pizza shop. Yay. š First of all, expensive, expensive, expensive! Yikes...$40 lunch for 2 slices of pizza, 2 sodas, meatball hero and 1 soup. I understand things are getting pricey. Second the food did not live up to the price. The pizza slices were ok - the sauce gave me reflux later - decently warmed. The Italian Wedding soup is nothing like I have seen before --- sliced regular sized meatballs, tortellini. Lazy, lazy, lazy! Italian Wedding soup is mini handmade meatballs with acini de pepe, and veggies. The meatball hero was not so good. š So much sauce, too much sauce. Cold meatballs. There is no reason for cold meatballs - they should be hot from sitting in a big pot of sauce! Hardly any cheese. Roll was limp and not a hearty roll needed for all that sauce. Just so disappointed. I wish they would rethink what they should make and sell - keep with what you were great with - sandwiches, the best fries around, cheesesteaks, foods you can't get on every corner in...
