I found this place in the Faith Plaza in Ravena NY. Of course, food is always a personal preference. I was not a friend of the owner but after I tasted a slice of the Grandmas pie, I became one very quickly. Trust me, if his food wasn't good I wouldn't give the man the time of day! I figured it was time for me to say something out here, tell people what I think about this place. I come from an Italian family. Trust me..."I know good Italian food when I find it". I grew up working in the local famous Italian family restaurants called Alteri's. I cooked for Lou when I was a kid...that was a long time ago! Alteri's was the best! Nicks Panini Parm's and sliced Italian meat Panini's are made on freshly baked Italian style breads (baked in-house) and they are just plain amazing! No canned sauce here. Nick makes every pot from scratch! The pizza is "old Italian style". The taste, texture and quality you get back in Italy and pizza joints you find in NY City! Light thin crust, crispy and the thick crust Sicilian pizza, doesn't sit in your stomach like a lump of lead. It's very rare you find this old country style and quality anywhere locally. Nick uses the best cheese...Grande! If you think that doesn't matter...you're severely mistaken! The flavor of the cheese is what makes the pie, after the crust! Try a Grandmas Pie. You'll eat the whole damn thing yourself. This place is my all time favorite in upstate NY! Thank god Nick is...
Read moreIf it's traditional Italian pizza you know and love from NYC or from the old country...this place is absolutely one of the best you'll find anywhere. One evening, I had an Italian mix Panini and my wife had the meatball Panini. The Italian meats were very good quality but the fresh baked Panini bread, was out of this world! We've had several Italian meals here, like Chicken Marsala and Chicken Eggplant. They were excellent. I will WARN you, "if you're ordering dinners and the place is busy, be prepared to wait for your meals". If you're the impatient soul, stick to pizza and sandwiches because Nick makes the dinners to order and that takes time. Call ahead and have Nick get a jump on your order. You'll be much happier when you arrive. NOTHING is precooked, except the eggplant and of course meatballs, sausage and the lasagna. YOU WILL wait but YOU WILL love your meal, if you're used to real Italian cooking! We're blessed to have a place with traditional Italian cooking like this...

I ordered from here about a week ago. Got pizza, a couple sandwiches and some other sides because family was up for the weekend. We were tired of getting from Paul’s pizza so we decided to try this place out. My daughter noticed that the employees weren’t wearing gloves/masks and after we got home to start eating it seemed like the pizza crust was not fresh (maybe a day or 2 old) and had a slight sourish taste to it. I’d really recommend staying away from this place because it seems like they don’t really care about quality...
