Tonight we chose Reds to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We have been to Reds frequently in the past and have always been a fan. I thoroughly enjoyed Kate greeting us on our many lunch trips in the past as well as brunch Sundays. Tonight was an overall complete seal on never returning again. As you can imagine it’s pretty devastating when you want to celebrate a special occasion and end up extremely disappointed. My husband ordered the king crab special (as he should! He deserves to be a king especially on his birthday!) the presentation was really great when it came out, after cutting into the legs his happy face quickly became dissatisfied as he took his first bite. It was very cold, we reached out to the waitress (I want to add Mia was FABULOUS and this was NOT her fault) she took the dish back to the chef and came out a couple minutes later and stated the chef had fixed the problem. He further starts to again restart his meal and now the crab is extremely overcooked and not appetizing whatsoever. Thankfully I had a rather large prime rib I wasn’t able to finish (it was very tasty and aside from the warm side Caesar salads everything else was good) he was able to consume something to eat on HIS BIRTHDAY DINNER! Now I want to add in here I am RARELY a complainer when things like this happen I normally take mental note and move on with life knowing better for the next time, but when the check came and that un-edible crab meal was $69.99 I needed to speak up. I kindly notified our waitress that this is A not her fault and B I would like to speak with Kate whom moments prior I had seen in the bar area. The waitress was kind and went back to speak to management, then came back out to notify that someone was coming over. Someone from management I would assume came over (Not Kate who I had asked for) she heard our complaint took back the crab to the kitchen and came back with $25 off now making this $69.99 meal $44.99 so three bites of crab (that were spit back on a plate), potato and a veggie is not worth this so at this point I am just extremely taken back. Feeling disgusted and even more disappointed with the lack of compassion and compensation for this horrible meal I kindly got up paid the tab and tipped our waitress (again she didn’t cook it she only served it and she was very compassionate over the situation, if only management had that same attitude and respect). I am extremely disappointed not only in the lack of quality of the food they feel appropriate to charge $69.99 for but the lack of consideration management took into account with this entire situation. Kate was requested and she bailed on coming over which was honestly more distasteful than their $69.99 king crab meal. When a customer asks for you and you don’t respond it’s honestly just really bad for business but when you know a customer who has never once asked for a check to be adjusted or complained ever and the best you can do is $25 that’s not fair in the least. I’m thoroughly disappointed and pray in the future they take a little more care of their patrons. Judging from some of the recent reviews this sadly appears...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve had in years with any restaurant. I was so excited to go here. I pre searched restaurants nearby to go to with my husband for one of the nights out on our weekend getaway for our one year anniversary.
Little did I know that I would be disappointed as soon as I walked through the door.
When I got there this past Saturday, my husband and I stood there and waited. The front hostess, a middle aged one with with glasses and dark hair said to us “it will be a few minutes” and then she went back to entering what looked to be like receipts onto a computer system, still making us wait. Then, another hostess or waitress walked up and greeted us and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside as she had menus and was going to seat us. We said inside would be fine, then the first hostess stepped in and said “no they need to wait” and it confused that hostess and she apologized and ok I’m sorry and walked away.
Another customer that was standing behind us noticed and mentioned that that was very odd of her to do that.
After 10-15 minutes of waiting and seeing empty tables, we decided that we would just sit at the bar. Then the original hostess said “are you sure? I’m just about to have a table.” And we said no it’s fine.
It was truly giving me racism feelings as she made me fee uncomfortable as soon as we walked in and she noticed me. She treated me differently because I was Asian.
Not only did we experience that rude greeting, but the raw oysters that I ordered looked VERY weird. Similar to what looked like a brain like texture. Not fresh! Nor did they taste good or was the right texture. I ate 3 and couldn’t finish the rest. I felt like I would’ve gotten sick if I ate the rest. I’ve eaten many raw oysters before but this was by far the worst I’ve had.
The restaurant is only getting 2 stars because the male hostess working at the bar was very polite and actually tried. Other than that, I would give them .5 stars.
It was very chaotic in there and seemed like not many people understood their role or knew what they were doing.
Very sad. This restaurant needs a serious bar rescue/or training session. I’m just surprised how good the ratings were before when I checked. Not sure if I came on the wrong night but I honestly don’t think I would go back or...
Read moreA month ago we had a wonderful dinner at Red’s. Our server, Jarrod, was polite and attentive, and the food was excellent. We were so happy to return last night for a double birthday celebration.
It was so bad, I’m not sure we will ever return.
First, our server kept telling us they were understaffed and apologized for the sporadic attention. I understand being short-staffed, but then you should limit the amount of patrons you serve, instead of packing them in, making the maximum profit at the expense of service. Drinks were brought, order taken. Appetizers brought (oysters which were excellent). After a half hour, and no waitress, we wanted to order more drinks. Someone appeared with our salads and handed them to us, but neglected to clear the table. It was getting crowded. Our waitress passed by and said our food was ready. 15 minutes later she cleared our table and apologized that it wasn’t cleared earlier. Twenty minutes later our food arrived, 30 minutes after we were told it was ready. The salmon, potatoes and Brussels sprouts were dry and room temperature.. We then waited a half hour to get that cleared. We were asked if anyone wanted coffee. One of us ordered, but the server didn’t wait for a response from the others. We had to ask for a dessert menu…and our second round of drinks arrived after we had finished our entrees. In no way do I blame the staff. Our server was hustling and was definitely overworked. I also understand that there is a shortage of workers. So if that is the case, limit the amount of patrons you can serve at any given time. Each time we have visited Reds, our tab is well over $200. I have no issue paying for good food and service. Last night was not one of those occasions. It will be a long time before I ever go...
