Today was our second trip to Whirlybird. Our first trip was in the fall with three kiddos and three adults. Our kids fell in love with the pumpkin bars that day and the adults fell in love with the Wooleybear speciality drink. The hubby said he loves "the drink with maple syrup too!" But of course, he can not remember the name! :) Today we made the trip just for the Coffee Flights. I had been trying to make one of their Flight events for awhile but it never worked out. So today I woke up on a mission. I was going to make their Coffee Flight event. We had a little bit of a wait once we arrived, but the line moved quite fast. We ordered a flight, a The Nifty hot, an original breakfast wrap, a coffee to go for the babysitter, and an original croissant sandwich. I also had to grab a Whirlybird sticker to add to my water bottle! We got our drinks quite fast for how busy those baristas were. On my flight, Late to the Christmas Program Again was my favorite, Jingy Bells came in second and the Yankee Swap came in third. All the drinks were splendid. Our breakfast then arrived and we were absolutely blown away by the taste. It was one of those times where the plate gets sat down in front of you and the food looks completely ordinary....but then you take a bite. The flavor was phenomenal. Somehow packed in that wrap and croissant sandwich, was so much flavor that it was hard to comprehend. My husband is NOT a breakfast fan, he avoids it at all cost, but today Whirlybird changed his view of breakfast. Whirlybird is definitely a top spot for coffee, teas, food, and smiles. I know we will...

If I could give Whirlybird more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. This little gem of a coffee shop has easily become my all-time favorite. I started going a couple months after they opened, originally drawn in by their coffee flights (which are a must-try if you haven't already!), and little did I know I'd soon be driving 20+ minutes on the regular just to get my fix.😅 At this point, I go so often they know me by name! Liz, the owner, is genuinely one of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. You can tell how much heart she’s poured into Whirlybird, and her team of girls? Absolutely fantastic. She’s created such a fun and welcoming environment, and her team is just as incredible. Every single person there is friendly, upbeat, and makes the experience that much better. They genuinely make you feel like you're part of their little coffee shop family. Their drinks are consistently amazing — creative, seasonal, and always something new to look forward to. I love it so much that I even buy their coffee to take home because nothing else compares. And the food? SO good. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful. I truly have nothing negative to say about Whirlybird. My only wish? That they’d open a location in Eau Claire — I’d be there every single day.🫶🏻 Whirlybird isn’t just a coffee shop. It’s a whole experience — one that keeps me coming back time and time again.

My current favorite items: Butterscotch Maple iced Latte, Blueberry Matcha, Chicken...

From the first visit I went here back in the summer of 2022, to today, this is by far the best coffee shop in the Chippewa Valley, in my opinion.

DRINKS: Truthfully have not had a bad drink at this place. They are truly delicious, the have seasonal creative fun new drinks that they switch out, same with weekly spotlight drinks. Truly care about how each one is made too.

FOOD: I have tried many of their homemade baked goods. Once again, have not had one that wasn't good. Some items are there daily, but there usually is something new/different each day. Love that it's homemade, you can tell there's homemade effort into the items, great portions, and just truly delicious. Breakfast burritos are very, very good as well!

SERVICE: This is what takes the cake for me. They treat you not only as a prized guest, but they take the time to get to know you, socialize, and build friendships. Just going here can put you in a better mood. They don't look at you as a profit, they want to build a relationship with their customers and that is something you just don't see a lot of places. Very accommodating, willing to help, and are just all truly great people. This alone has made me a dedicated customer.

If you're in the area, you definitly have to make a trip into Whirlybird, you won't be...

Went to Whirlybird the day they launched their coffee flights. They kept things moving really well and food came out hot and tasting great! Staff was super friendly. Cinnamon rolls were very good and so were the coffee flavors. My friends had breakfast sandwiches and said they were excellent. My only “suggestion” would be to put ice in the iced coffee 😄 they are smaller cups (about 8-10oz) but with whole milk (no substitutions allowed but may be in the future) they were very, very rich. I found it hard to finish all four flavors. I thought the prices were a little high- I paid a little over $15 for a cinnamon roll and a coffee flight but the rolls were big and the sizes of the coffee flight were pretty good sized as well. I’d prefer a little less liquid, more ice and be able to substitute milks but I look forward to going again! Everything was great!

After a doctor appointment where I had to fast, I stopped by Whirlybird to grab a coffee and a pastry. I’m not sure why I’ve waited so long to visit? What a fantastic little place. It was slightly hidden so took me a bit to find, but this is a hidden gem. I ordered one of their summer specials, the Gilligan. It was so yummy and perfectly balanced. I almost drank it all by the time I got home (see picture). I also had a very tasty almond croissant. I thought it was slightly spendy for the 2 items (11 dollars and some cents plus tip) but both were so yummy I have no complaints about the price. The baristas were a well-oiled machine and friendly and even though it was busy I received my coffee very quick! I’ll definitely return to try more items.
