Read moreAs a yearly summer montauk advocate. Having a new restaurant in town is always exciting. To start, we ordered the entire menu.
For starters the oysters were some of the best oysters piece ever had. Amazing oysters with Beautiful summer lemon dressed style. Tiradito was one of the best dishes of the night. White fish served with fried conch on top. Absolutely incredible.
Caviar was amazing with a Puerto Rican touch. Nice briny & beautiful finish.
All appetizers were to die for.
As far as our middle course went, we got the black truffle tortellini pasta. Homemade pasta in a perfect black truffle cream sauce with shaved truffle on top. I should’ve ordered three of this pasta. It’s definitely a hit.
We also had some other middle course items. Lobsters Mac & cheese. A black squid ink pasta with uni & caviar & clams. Out of all three of the pasta dishes, the truffle tortellini has the spot for #1, but give all three a shot.
As far as entrees go, we got the whole Black Sea bass, tomahawk & A5 Waygu Paella.
Both the Black Sea bass & tomahwak were good, but the real show is the A5 Waygu Paella. Rich, deep flavors, so buttery & delicious. I would get this over any of the entree s on the menu. Overall the appetizers & entrees were amazing. We finished with their whole cake, which was very tasty.
Service & hospitality was amazing. Servers were on top of every part of the meal, perfect flow to the meal. The manager came by to check every single table. PJ the manager, hand sliced the tomahawk & deboned the sea bass at the side of the table.
The attention to care from the managers, servers, bussers & more was amazing.
We did get sides, I’d like to see the creamed spinach be a little more thicker, it was a little wet but that’s just my personal preference. Overall I think the stars of the show are the A5 Paella, all of their fresh seafood (ceviche, tiradito,).
If you want a good night, this place has to be on your bucket list. We also got the chance to check out the invite only speakeasy located inside the restaurant. Don jaguars.
Go for the food, stay for the drinks....
Read moreWhere do I start?? July 4th weekend in Montauk, and we were looking for a great meal. Placēbö in Montauk was not it. If you're looking to dine in a club with obnoxiously loud music, you may like this place despite the extremely overpriced food. I was expecting a fine dining experience based on other reviews. I knew I was going to be disappointed as soon as I saw the paper napkins on the table. Our table was directly under a speaker, so conversation wasn't possible. We requested another table, but we were told they could not accommodate us even though the dining room was half full. The food was nothing to brag about, and after a $250 meal for 2 people, we found ourselves in town looking for a second dinner. Fortunately, we found an amazing 42 Oz tomahawk at "The Muse" for a fraction of the price with a much better menu. Lunch earlier in the day at "668 The Gig Shack" was far superior. Drinks were weak and tasteless at Placebo and were made with bottom shelf liquor. The main dining room was nice, the staff was attentive, but the rest of the place needs work. The mens bathroom reminded me of a college dorm, with only one stall in service in the ladies' room. There are far superior places to dine. If you're looking for a frat party club vibe, this...
