My fiancé and I ate lunch at this restaurant. The food was decent (nothing extraordinary), however hit the spot after a day of wandering around montauk. The wait staff was impolite and inattentive. I typically try to stray away from writing a critique about wait staff as it is a tough job. However I have never encountered wait staff that were this rude before.
We went to the restaurant as it was near the water and thought it seemed “cute.” It was crowded and there was no hostess stand. I flagged down a waitress who mentioned that she would get the hostess. We waited close this ten minutes for the waitress to receive the host and almost left. However the host was polite and seated us. Our waitress rushed us while taking our order. The food took a little over a half an hour (for a tuna melt and burger). While myself and my fiancé were eating a different waitress slapped a dirty glass plate on our table and walked away before we could inform her that this dirty plate was not ours. Our waitress couldn’t be found, so we flagged down the waitress who slapped the plate on the table. She nastily ignored us and eventually said “really” as if I would lie that a plate was slapped on our table. Our waitress took more than 10min to get our credit card back to us, my fiancé had to flag her down (after we payed).
Something to keep in mind cell phones are not allowed, despite the restaurant being rather noisy. I had to snuck my phone underneath my hair to take an urgent call from my mom. This experience provided us with laughs and no harm was done. However we will not...
Read moreOur favorite restaurant in Montauk! It’s very relaxed and laid back and rustic on the inside. The food is ALWAYS quality. We have stopped there for lunch and gone back for dinner on some occasions, because it is THAT good. The buffalo mahi bites are like nothing you’ve ever tasted before. Fresh tasting and delicious fried food is not an easy feat. First off, their buffalo sauce is just a good quality classic and delicious buffalo sauce (their wings are amazing also). The fish in the mahi is extremely fresh. The breading is done to perfection. It comes with blue cheese also (delicious). Order the buffalo mahi bites!!! The softshell crab sandwich (it’s a special) served on an English muffin with their homemade tartar sauce is another favorite. Their mussels and baked clams are solid choices too. Almond crusted mahi as a special was amazing also. Their fries are delicious as well as the kale caesar salad. You really can’t go wrong with anything at the dock. My only complaint has been the carrot cake including pineapples but maybe some people enjoy that. Still good, just don’t like pieces of fruit in my cake. I have never had a bad meal there! Staff is always amazing and super friendly. But don’t use your cell...
Read moreThis was the worst choice of a place to eat we made when visiting Long Island area. The staff wasn’t friendly. Our host was simply unpleasant. Prices of the food was high versus the quality. We were served a cold tuna stake with fries, and tiny coleslaw salad for 36$ 😅 And it was mediocre at best (no salt at all). My friend wanted to exchange coleslaw for something else because of the food intolerance and was informed that she can pay for something else 😝 Very proactive attitude towards the customer. The cherry on top was that we paid with the debit card and they charged us with the convenience fee what was not communicated to us beforehand! Not to mention that the place is covered with pretentious information towards the customers. Some people may find it very offensive, especially parents. Well, they (staff) require many house rules to be respected by the customers but little rules apply to themselves as hosts. Not...
